(decided to take out the puns LOL )

Imagine how your kids will view current games. "What, you have to use your hands?"

But back up a bit. How easy is it for us to really grasp what's going on with the new Nintendo Revolution/Wii control scheme?

Don't feel bad - it appears gaming journalists aren't faring much better (http://www.forumplanet.com/gamespy/topic.asp?fid=1422&tid=1892913&p=1).

Apparently, one of the things going on with the scheme is that it makes questionable journalists write worse. I had no idea what he was saying in that article. What do they always say, writing about the Wii is like dancing about architecture?

Maybe the whole situation with the Wii control scheme is like computers pre-mouse. Difficult to describe, hard to imagine working without later.

Or, it could end up like the Virtual Boy.

Well, as somebody pointed out in the thread, Tycho described what was going on mechanically in two sentences, while the journalist in question wsa like "wow look at all this awesome stuff" and started just describing it. I don't mind that (after all, with most any game you can watch the movies, but I don't like the hassle of downloading them), but there also has to be some explanation as to how it's working on a radically new control scheme like this.

There really isn't an excuse for only writing like this in your previews. For example, Pathogen (original poster of that thread) applied the formula to a well-known game:

There were many large aliens shooting lasers at me and a four-wheeler with a gun on top. I could see a lot of grass and space-ships and sometimes threw a grenade while shooting. Halo is great!

I dunno man, At our schools afterprom I was asked to hook up Halo, so I set up 16 players and it was only completely filled during one game, while DDR and other Hands on arcade games we're constantly being played by newbs and pros alike.
