Any winner or runner-up still here from the Sega Sub Terrania competition, besides me and Joe?

Excellent 'name the fighter ship' competition from Sega Visions in 1994. Only for USA citizens, I lived in the UK and won anyway (Yeah, UK is one of USAs little States!!!)

1st Winner was Benny Greenberg from NY for the entry Super Energy Gravitational Attacker (SEGA).

4 Runners-up, I remember the names Jeff Adkins and Frank Polosky.

15 'creative name entries': included me and Joe Santulli, I don't recognize any other names from the list.

My ship name was 'Axiom'.

Still got my 'win':
Poster, Baseball cap, 32X writing block, B&W screen picture, T-Shirt, labels.

What was my ship's name? Whatever it was it should have won, I remember it was brilliant. Well, at least I saved my swag from that contest.

Was it... "Sub-Terrania Ship"

<-- is brilliant!

Hm, since Room of Doom is down again,
I can only show some here:

the 32X writing block is a ...writing block, you scribble on the paper, take it of, scribble on the next piece....until it's used up...that's all I can explain, sorry.

Quite funny, read the letter:

"You're entry"...= "You are entry", what kind of English is that? I think she meant "Your entry".

I'd really like to hear more of this- what the contest was, how it went, etc. It'd make for a great article.

Everyones still here! It's pretty neat when you realize we have 3/20 winners all in the same place at the same time.

How did you come across this, Google?

I actually found it on an ask.com search.
And actually I sent in my prize-winning entry through a magazine called Game Meister in NY. Was a local fanzine that had the "contest" inside the pages of the mag.

Wonder what I did with all of that crap. I think its in some tupperware in my garage. Actually - funny ting - they sent the whole lot to my house with no "sig" so it just sat there a few days before I even knew it was there. And I received it a good two weeks before they even told me I won.

Game Meister? Hmm... Do you recall who the editor was? I'm not familiar with that one.

But otherwise, congrats, and welcome to Digital Press!

Tell stories? I don't even remember how I've gotten into that competition living in the UK at the time. Must have been mentioned in DP fanzine, or maybe in a UK Sega magazine (which is not very likely as it was a USA based compo only), or EGM which I was reading every month. I don't remember ever reading Sega Visions though.
