The Midwest Gaming Classic (http://www.midwestgamingclassic.com/) is now just over a week away and i've finally secured my freedom from work so i can make the trip. Should be a lot of fun and i know Fox, Kamino, S1lence and GoatDan will be there but i'm curious to know, who else is going to the MGC?

I'm pretty close, so I might show up if I'm in the mood for gaming. I've been on an extended sabbatical from gaming for a couple of months now due to other things getting in the way, and my interest has really taken a dive recently. I'm on the "maybe" list for now.

I've said this to a couple people, but it's really the truth...
In 2004 at this point, I wasn't at all excited about the show. The stress of putting it together and attempting to appease everyone involved (and ending up appeasing no one, I think a lot of people on these boards know what I mean when I say that...) made it so that the lead up to the show was straight stress, and the Sheraton did absolutely nothing to help at all. If anything, they did things that just added a LOT more too it.
This year is totally different. The show is so much more already -- I can confirm over 100 arcade and pinball machines will be in attendance on freeplay, there are tons of vendors, tons of new stuff is happening, and there will be a lot of people I can meet for the first time or the many time.
The only thing I regret is that Kamino now knows where I live... Just kidding Kamino!
Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting us through all the strange happenings over the years. 2006 is going to be a year where I definitely feel that the show is what it should be, and I'm super excited to go! Make sure to stop by and say hi to me. I'll be the guy with the big grin on his face, probably playing Space Shuttle pinball all day long (even though I may purchase it right away ;) ).

He knew where I lived Dan, and I ended up moving because of it. You must take it seriously. It only goes downhill from here.

What part of Michigan you coming from? You can take a ferry across Lake Michigan to either Manitowoc or even Milwaukee.

I would take that ferry but it's crazy expensive. For the 4 of us going in my group, along with a vehicle, round trip would be about $600.
Oh yeah, I'll be there.

if you see a person wearing a jagfest on tour t-shirt, necklace of name tags and a VGS black hat on the first
day that would be me.(I'm still deciding on what shirt to wear on the second day)

If there is another one next year (I noticed the other was in 2004, is there a year skip?) I'll try and go. I bet if I had looked ahead and planned around it I could've made it and tried to get a ride from here with some other members. Oh well.

There will be another unless something horrible happens this weekend, which at this point I don't think it will. With relative confidence, I can say pencil in June 9 and 10 for next year.
By 1:00 Saturday, I'll know if that is a "pen it in" or not :)

I'll be there displaying a few items in the museum, and hopefully doing a lot of trading. See my blog for my tradelist. See you all there.

Yeah, I'll be there, showing off the Mac LAN again. Also doing the Underdog section - all those older systems and the one on DP that always get so much flack - I won't name it, but folks know what it is. It's not called the Underdog for nothing - but then again, Underdog had many meanings..
I'll be wearing my Fellowship of the Black Spot t-shirt(s) too!

Gotta say, the Mac setup was impressive. Got to play Marathon with a bunch of people and it was a hoot!

Well, I dont know if you've already signed up for the space on those dates, but if you have not, and could wait like.. a week more, I can find out if I can go. Basically, the only thing that would prevent me from going is my High School graduation. While I would love to go, I think the graduation ceremony is a little bit more important. Either way, I need to look up the dates, if they've even got them decided yet.

Well, graduation isn't that weekend, so I'm all set in that case. The only thing now is funds, but I've got quite a while to worry about that. Hopefully I can make it!

Thanks!!! It was nice to have the thing out the the 'open' this year. 2004 I was in a side room, so not too many people found me. Erica, a friend of mine was the lady running the Marathon LAN!
