I have heard that it is possible to modify a blue Justifier light gun into having the same phone style hookup that the pink version used. does anyone have a link to this mod?

Yo

I would be interested in finding this out also because I have an orange gun that works just like the blue one but it also has a RJ-11 jack on it.

Wait, one plugs into the other, right? Do you mean you just want to plug it straight into the system?

Well, Whatr happens with the Sega Genesis version of the Konami Justifier ligt gun is this. The Player 1 plugs into the console system. Player 2 take a his cord with an RJ11 plug on it and hooks into the player 1 gun.
Now if you dont have the pink player 2 gun you have to find one and they can get a bit pricy for just the gun. (I only spent $3 on my blue one.) I know that I have seen people out there say that it is possible to mod a blue gun to make it hookup like a pink player 2 gun. Problem is I cant ind the link to how this mod is done. It really shouldnt be that hard.

Well, if you have the blue and the pink, take them apart and see if their components are basically identical, with just a port change. Follow the leads from the blue, and see if matching contacts are on the pnk. If they are, it should be pretty obvious how to do the mod. Myabe post some good pics of the insides?

Ouch. Short of finding the rarer pink gun, I'm not sure what else you can do...I couldn't find the plans online either...

If you find the pink gun, maybe you could be the sacrificial lamb and figure it out for everyone else. :D

EDIT: I've got a theory. Open the blue and see where the female RJ11 leads go. I'm betting that only 2 of the 4 pins are for the blue gun, and the other two are reserved for the pink. Maybe if you have two blue guns you could figure out which are which with a little trial and error and just plain visually looking at the contact leads points. I'm basing this theory on the idea that the insides of the Pink and Blue are probably identical, and that they made a single board design for both guns.

If it's orange and NOT pink.. then you have an American Laser Games light gun (It won't work on Snatcher & Konami games I've heard; just the FMV titles.). Check that sucker and make sure it's not for the 3DO. The ONLY orange ALG guns I've EVER seen with a phone jack on the bottom of the handle were 3DO models.. made fpr two-players. If you do indeed have an orange SegaCD gun with a phone jack.. that's a first for me. I want it! ;)

Mmm.. I have a pink Justifier still shrinkwrapped in it's box.. but I'm not opening it. ;)

Naa, no on needs to open anything. I dont mind opening up my blue gun since there pretty cheap. I need to find the digital camera first though so I can document what I am doing.

HAPPY NOW ID? (http://cgi.ebay.com/Justifier-gun-Sega-Genesis-cd-32x-light-gun_W0QQitemZ8283103835QQcategoryZ62053QQssPageNam eZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Niku.. this is the blue single-player gun. The 2nd player one looks just like it.. only it's pink (really pink.. not orange).

Yup, thats right I have sat here today and pretty much figured this thing out. thats right technology is my bitch. Well... kinda. I have some pics and some hand written notes. I need to fix my scanner so I can scan the note page I made that shows the hookup inside. Its an interesting piece of tech. I wil hook up the scanner tommorow and post my results. This MIGHT be easier than I though. Im still not 100% sure on a the function of 3 wires. I know in general what they do but not the specific pin hookups. I can figure it out but, I wil need another blue gun to experiment on. everyone keep your eye our for a blue justifier selling for around $3.00. Thanks

I havent forgotten about you guys yet. Here's te thing. I have all my research up to now but, Im not totaly finished. I know how the wiring works on the light gun and how it hooks into a small processing chip for the controller. I have a plan on how to test the second playe connection also but, Im missing some equipment right now. The sad thing is Im missing a alligator clip jumper wire. Sigh, I have a bag full of them and I cant find one. My dad is out of town on a business trip so I cant get one from him. Let me have a little time and I will get the jumper and solve the chip wiring problem.

*Hint* ever wonder why the second player has to plug into player 1's gun? heh heh... 8-)
