Ok I got a better computer, and before I didn't care much for this game, now....it scares the shit outta me.

It amazes me how much better this game is on a computer than can run it fast. So much better, i'm speechless.

Makes me wonder how many current games aren't getting a fair shake by consumers cause of the high system specs. I've never changed my opinion about a game so quickly after upgrade as this one, hell I liked Unreal Tournament better when it did lag, lol.

You wanna see Doom 3 in a whole new light? TURN THEM OFF.

That and surround sound is scary as hell.

I though Doom 3 was under appreciated. I heard people disregarding it all the time. I upgraded my PC to play it at a good resolution and loved it.

I think Quake 4 got the same unfair treatment also.

It's even better if you play it on a day or so without sleep =)

Really fucks with your mind.

Quake IV wasn't necessarily creepy, but it was a really (if not easily beaten) game.

The room before the last boss was harder than the boss.. how sad =\

IMO - Quake IV has the best opening of a video game, ever.

those who have played it know what I'm talking about - The marine.....

Sorry to wander OT for a second there.

I happened to enjoy D3 with my good Hi-Fi headphones. The atmosphere in this game can only be topped by F.E.A.R.'s.

But having it right in your ears - there's nothing like it! I think the only thing that could top headphones would be surround sound headphones.

Now that you have a new machine, you should consider that (FEAR or Q4) for your next purchase, if you don't have it already.

My computer sucks. I need more RAM to play the game properly...

I did like what I saw though. Excellent game, I just wish I didn't get motion sickness while playing FPS...

Or a 2 year old game in the case of doom 3.

Gotta love living up to your title.

As for Doom 3, I found it fantastic for the first maybe 3 hours, and then I just cheated the rest of the way through to get it over with. It's the most repetative game I've ever played. After so long you just can't really give a shit about going into another space station corridor and having something jump out at you. You spend about a half hour of the game in Hell, but while you're there it's pretty awesome.

Fantastic atmosphere, poor design.
