Okay I'm in a dilema. I have a pretty beat up pac-man cab that has been converted to something else. Slowly, I am restoring it. I am starting with stripping the paint that covers pac man. What I would like to do is route new sides and paint the artwork on myself. I don't know much about wood, but can I route the new sides without taking the old cabinet (the template) apart? It doesnt look like a router would fit around the corner from the inside, but I also dont know what kind of bits are out there. I dont think I have the heart to take apart the pac cab. Anyone have more info on the subject? I hope this makes sense.

I'm not sure I follow what you're saying exactly... are you trying to cut new side panels to replace the existing sides? IIRC, there are plans for building a Pac cab out there somewhere.
If the cab sides aren't too beat up, you should be able to strip, sand, fill in bad spots, sand again and repaint without taking anything apart.

Actually I found my answer at forum.arcadecontrols.com (thanks for the link JohnnyA). The answer is a flush trim bit with bearings on the outside. I can cut sides without taking the original apart.
