I really want this game seeing as how Jaws is my all time favorite movie.
Anyone playing this? No ones posted any reviews of the game that I can find.
We all know how bad video game adaptation of movies are, but this game was done by the Ecco guys, so maybe there's hope....
Is this game even released yet? I remember hearing about it a year ago and just assumed it was dumped by now.

Released this week(5/24) on PS2 (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281254) and Xbox (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=210773).
And it most certainly has been in dev for a while, as it's catalogue number is about 350 titles below the most current one.
I wanna try it just to eat people.

Spoiler alert!
I'm a shark that needs card keys...
as strange as it was I couldn't put it down.
but the "tunnel" vision thing is annoying
edit: guess hitting triangle removes it...hahahahah

3.8 on Gamespot.
Playing Appaloosa's ultraviolent and ultrastupid take on the titular killer shark is about as much fun as having your legs chewed off.
Can't say I didnt expect that.

still off to eat the good people of amity island
yet I can't swim...oh the irony.

Ouch!! I was expecting a low score. But a 3.8!?
Oh well... I guess I'll give it a rental first.
And oobgarm - Same here. I just want the game because you get to go around eating people. Even if it didn't have the Jaws liscense, I'd probably still find the game's premise interesting.
Now only if the shark had lasers! and a machine so he could walk on land (ala Oblongs). Now THAT would be an awesome game.

I tried this with a friend today, and it was horrible. It's good up until you finish eating the first diver you encounter, then it gets extremely bad.

This is an awful video game, period. 3.8 may be generous. Why in the hell am I forced to search for a keycard when I'm a 20 foot shark?
The camera is terrible and never properly placed (you can't even see Jaws when you're above the water), he's sluggish as hell to get moving, and aiming, even with a targeting system, is nearly impossible.

This game was in development for like, 4 years. Anyone else remember when it was called Sole Predator?
I was expecting it to be good. Appalloosa has done some really good games in the past.

GS' 3.8 review is a crock. Gamespot has lost all credibility in my mind with a review like this -- if you can get past the controls and camera (and you can if you work hard enough) there's plenty of game in there.
IGN's 7.4 is a much more balanced and accurate review IMO...I can name dozens and dozens of games far worse than this one, and there are plenty of interesting things the game DOES do effectively that are worth checking out.
It's definitely strange (what game where you're playing AS Jaws wouldn't be?) and could have been polished some more, but I'd still definitely at least give it a rental. That GS review is a joke, and it wouldn't be the first time they've crashed and burned.

To me the IGN review didn't seem that acurate either. For a game they gave a 7.4 they sure did complain about technical issues alot.
