An interesting quote from the king of FPSes:
We're seeing specs for mobile phones that will be out next year that have gigahertz processors, hundreds of megabytes of RAM and graphics accelerators that are more powerful than the original Xbox, all crammed into a tiny little mobile phone. And that has some interesting implications for the development process.
He goes on to assert that it will be an unusual scenario to have small budgets for very powerful machines, and it's not certain whether the market will take off so that the multi-year, big-budget development cycle works for cell phones.
Also interesting is the bit about control interfaces. Simple games on cell phones could be highly engaging.
