ok i guess this would be the best place post this topic so here it goes..."what the hell happen to to g4 tv?"wasnt g4 supposed to be about videogames?everytime i pass it on the cable tv its got everything but videogames.."the man show,star trek,braniac,happy tree house friends,etc."what the crap if i wanted to watch those show i could turn the tv to comedy central or spike tv.they dropped g4.com and judgement day from there line up,changed icons and fliter so now there not even video game related,electric playground is always reruns that i have seen 3 or 4 times which makes me wonder if they are even making new ones of those,arena is a poor show in my opinion which could be done better but wont be so they will most likely drop that show at some point,attack of the show which is the most popular of there shows at least with the people i know is pretty weak too,i know its supposed to cover goings in the electronic and internet world but man its just not that good anymore.cheat is still videogame related but its all reruns like electric playground and x-play has turned into a skit show with "some"videogame reviews between skits.am not trying to be a ass here and i hope i dont make anyone mad but i really need to voice this with people that are videogames like myself so again am sorry if i make anyone mad with my ranting and raving i just wonder if am the only one that feel like g4 is lest like videogame programimg and more like spike tv or some other cable programmimg.thanks for hear out my rant folks hope to hear some feedback be it good or bad.

Good god almighty, G4 sucks ass now. Cheaters crossed the line. I watch X-play and the rare Icons episode, but thats about it. It really started going downhill when they took off Starcade. :(

G4 has become the "IGN" of cable television. I doubt that even many people working at IGN remember it stood for "Internet Gaming Network". Nowdays.. it's dumb-assed drift racing, hot cars, "babes" that look like porn stars.. and movie reviews.. VERY little gaming news. I have often thought the two entities have GOT to be related somehow.. since soooo much of their content is the same.. bullshit. G4TV COULD HAVE been great for gamers.. I predict they'll go off the air in less than 2 years. Even Paul Allen did it better. they've lost touch with their core base. Now they only cater to pre-pubescent boys and their dreams.. "j*ck-off" material.. nothing more.

On a side note about IGN.. did you know that the MAIN moderator of the IGN forums is only 13 years old? I found that out when I went to contact the "head mod"; and found his "about me" page.. figures.

I haven't watched it in awhile...and I used to like it myself. I taped several tapes each of Judgment Day and G4tv.com and I still have those. I remember the hosts of Judgment Day were supposed to see about getting it on another channel (albeit as "Reviews On The Run" as G4 owns the "Judgment Day" title) and I wonder if anything came of that.

I used to watch X-Play every night and I loved Icons.

But all I see now is Fastlane. And they even managed to make Star Trek unwatchable with all that chat and stock ticker bullshit running as a border.

G4 used to be on my list of regular channel-surfing stops, but now it's off the map.

It's been said, and I'll echo it, that the merger equaled G4/TTV's doom, and I haven't watched since they canned Sargent in November.

The crazy thing is that I've tuned into G4 more ever since they picked up TNG (and I'm not even a huge Star Trek fan).

They still show Icons at some asshole hour in the morning when people are at work/school mixed with X-Play and Arena (Jesus...I thought Arena would have been the first thing to go).

Since everyone is tossing out their favorite/worst shows of G4, I really liked Judgment Day's set up. Two guys shooting the shit in a casual style makes for better “video/TV reviewing” than listening to people read someone's review article while game footage rolls. I'm amazed no one else that does video reviews for games has caught on to that.

TechTV was cool when it was TechTV, although people bashed on it about as much as we bash G4 now. Someone needs to step in and fill the void with a new tech channel.

We should all work together to create a new video gaming channel. One that has many different review shows, what's hot in gaming, what's new, and some "bringing it back to old school" type stuff. It's crazy when I expect a game show to be on and find fast cars and cartoons. They need to fix their act and also stop showing so many god damn infocommercials half the day. Stick something good in those spots and you may get some extra ratings...

I think this is always what happens with TV channels. Look at MTV in its beginnings and look at it now. There is almost no music on there anymore. Then they came out with MTV 2 which was music videos 24/7. Now there is almost no music on there as well. Then Much Music came out. Then it turned into Fuse TV and they don't even play all that much music anymore. It's like they drag a bunch of watchers in and then over time change their format until they aren't even close to what they were originally intended for.

I'm 99.9% sure it originally stood for Imagine Games Network. I distinctly remember their attempt at a magazine by the same name. I don't know if Imagine is still around, but I think they were the same ones who published ODCM and NextGen if I remember correctly. Even if they do still exist, I bet IGN has been sold off by now.

Last time I remember watching that show - I think it was like around 4 or 5 in the morning...

And I remember before TechTV merged with G4 - It was almost just as bad, then.

TechTV was trying to make itself out to be like one of the cable news networks. They talked about buisnesses and stocks constantly. Hardly ever any tech news. They wouldn't touch video games until G4 came along (except maybe one or two episodes per week of X-play - before Morgan Webb became the geeks wet dream)
