I understand that Phantasy Star Online is coming to Xbox in the next few months.

Will it not rock to be able to talk to the people you're gaming with over broadband with Xbox live? My PSO time has come. I guess first I need to get better at the game, unlike all of you who rocked the DC version.

yea, I'm kinda pissed about the fee, it's not like it's hosted on sega servers, I wish they would have just charged for downloads...anyway it should be better than gamecube where it's hard as hell to communicate....the game just got pucshed to 3/25 give or take a day.

I'm looking forward to it... I'm not looking forward to the fee though.

I didn't know. That's very sad indeed. I don't even know if I'll do it. I don't online game consistently enough.

Online should be a selling point for hardware and software- not monthly fees. That will only prevent people from doing it. Most of us play alot of different games, and don't want to rely on fee-based play to influence our playing choices to get our $10 worth. I'd rather play a greater flat rate (say $5 more a year) to get unlimited use of all games.

Is PS2 Evercrack like that? If not, then PSO certainly shouldn't be.

Ah, well. I guess I'm not that excited after all.

I'm not even going to touch PSO for XBox. I've posted a few rants about this before. One rant: you *have* to have XBox Live account to play it offline. Yes, offline but you still need online service. :? Microsoft is a posterchild of oxymoron. LOL

#2: the PSO fee is separate from XBox Live fee and you have to pay both to play online. And finally #3: earning certain weapons offline can get you banned online.

yes PS2 evercrack charges a fee, I'm not sure if it's 10 or 15 bucks a month.....the PSO xbox debacle is not MS's fault ...it's sega charging the fee....their justification for it is the development of downloadable updates...which I say they should just charge for the updates instead of a monthly fee.
