I was wondering if anyone here on the DP had this stick (I am refering to the really large one with the art work of all the streetfighter characters present).

I saw one at a local shop for about $50 (the box is a bit damaged). Now I have never purchased any kind of arcade stick, so I have little knowledge of this area, but with the Alpha Collection coming out soon, this peaked my interest.

Does anyone have personal experience with this stick, if so what do you think, is it worth picking up?

I have read reviews around the web, but I trust those on the DP much more.
I apologize if this stick has already been discussed, searching turned up nothing.

It's decent, not as good as a true arcade stick, but decent. I use it for Gradius V, and other Joystick related games for Xbox. Best you are going to get for Xbox.

I also notice the last time I was in gamestop. They marked the special sf anniversary controllers down to around $9.99 new to $7.99 used.
quite a drop from the 29.99 I paid. I have never seen the wireless one though.

Get it and then switch the buttons and joystick out after you buy it. Then you will have an amazing stick.

They're starting to sell at version of the stick with Happ parts included. I'm sure DreamTR can shed more light on this.

In all honesty the stick isn't that good out the box. It's easily moddable though so you can put authentic arcade parts in it.

Personally I think the Hori Real Arcade Pro/Pro2 is better. Just a tad bit more expensive.

I've got it. It's a good stick but like others have said it could be better. One of my main complaints is that the cord on it is too damn short. I pretty much have to play right in front of my TV to use it. Doesn't have the break away Xbox cable either so you can't get an extension for it. The Xbox headset port on it is a plus though.

If you want to save a few bucks and do the Happ mod yourself, I found this link with a nice step-by-step tutorial with pics:

I enjoyed it, but i've started using the Tekken 5 stick more.

I'd love to get rid of it if anyone is interested.

I own one, it's great for MAME, you just got to go to Radioshack and pick the PS2 to USB adapter, but all in all great stick!

I've never really cared for this stick. The big problem is that it's a circle-gated stick, so you can't feel the diagonals, and they don't have a large enough range either. The buttons are just a joke - cheap plastic, and absolutely ridiculous travel depth. I find the Tekken 5 stick to be ininitely better.

Are there octagon gated sticks out there too then?
Personally, I like round gates.
My friends DC arcade stick has a square gate and it's completely useless.

A lot of people like square gates, it's all a matter of preference.

You can actually install an octagonal restrictor plate on most JPN style joysticks. Might be more trouble than it's worth for some styled joysticks but it's possible.

Just wanted to tell everybody, watch out for hotgamestuff on ebay. They have a great deal on the sticks, but for some reason they absolutly fell apart on my transaction. I had to file a paypal complaint against them and get my money back.

I think dreamTR had a store on ebay that sold 2 for like 80$ Not too sure if it was him, but I do know the store is/was there.
