I'm planning on making a game room/study outside of my house. I plan on it being powered and having a separate hookup for possible networking/online multiplayer.

I expect to do this slowly, as I can't afford much at a time. So, I'm looking for suggestions. I have no experience with building anything, so I'm excitied about this. Please understand that I don't know much about building things, so be gentle. :)

So, are we talking about a shed at the bottom of the garden, or someting a little more impressive (and solid)?

How much room do you have? How big do you want the room? Is it gonna be connected to the house, or seperate.

But if you really have no idea what you're doing I'd sit down with a proper Architect and get him to draw up the plans. Then get some professional builders in to do the work. You're gonna have to have mains electricity wired in by a fully qualified electrical chappy anyway (legally).

And you'll have to check building regs to make sure to have the correct planning permission from the local Council.

EDIT: You're in the US, aren't you. D'oh. Best check things out with local authorities then. God knows what building regs you have and how they differ.

I wasn't meaning a large building...something small...about the size of an average living room, I guess.

It won't be connected to the house. I know people who can wire.
