this doest address your questions, but i always thought this game was a real oddity too-- it seems like the oddest game from the initial release batch- and its stuck with me all these years.... those damn eggplant monsters scurrying up those ladders to kill ya.. and that dude that walked on the other side of the walls trying to screw you up.... and those red monster things.... this was a high stress game for me when i was 8

I LOVE this game. It's one of my favorite NES games overall (don't ask).

I have Wrecking Crew on my multicart- it's a fun puzzle game and one the first NES titles..along with having a "build your own board" option gave it replay.

hell there's a few more obscure Mario titles
Before the NES was out and the Game & Watches were the cat's ass There was Mario's Cement Factory and Mario Bros. where in him and (his unnamed brother at the time) worked in a Bottling Factory
So, he was a Carpenter in Donkey Kong
a Cement Line worker in Mario's Cement Factory
a Line Worker in Mario Bros.
a Plumber in Mario Bros. (the mario bros. that DEFINED Mario)
a Doctor in Dr. Mario
anymore to add to this list?
He's worse than Barbie...

Mario was a referee in both Punch Out and Tennis.

Wrecking crew is a very underrated game from the NES.
It is top 5 in my faves for that system.

Great game. Too bad they messed up the SNES sequel. :(

Released in Japan.

WC 98 leans too heavily on the puzzle aspect of the game and less on the action. It's a little too wishy washy, not as fast, fun or charming as the original.

Looks like a bad attempt to cross the original Wrecking Crew and Tetris.
