jibbajaba - you really think so? lol man i used to hate this TV but now that you say that it does seem pretty cool i guess. lol this is the same exact TV my family had back when i first got my first Nintendo back in i think like 1990. weve had it ever since. But it sits in the room next to the kitchen now and my family upgraded years ago to a 53 inch Sony lol. But weve sill always held on to this one and its good for me to hook stuff up to it really quick. With the big screen i gotta move a bunch of stuff. lol

oh wait never mind, mabe it was a commercial or something.
you should refinish the wood...and if it es take the guts out and put a LCD in there

my grandma had/has a similar TV. i probably spent about 1,000 hours playing Tecmo Super Bowl and Bubble Bobble on that TV.

i like the handle/door knocker thingy on the front

This turned into an old-school TV appreciation thread fast LOL

I lthought it was cool how TV's used to be a part of the furniture layout, and not just an accessory.

jibbajaba - you really think so? Blah blah blah...

Yeah dude totally! It fits the period from which most of the games that we play came from. I remember when I was big into the NES in like 6th and 7th grade, my best friend had a TV just like it. His dad upgraded to a big screen, so the console TV was in the family room and used primarily for gaming, while the Big screen was in the front room and used for watching TV.

On a side note, I always thought it would be cool for someone to take one of these console sets and gut it, replacing said guts with modern hardware that would accept AV, s-video, and maybe even component inputs. That would be SWEET!!!

wait a minute . . . are you sure this isn't just a clever "Hey, check out my auction!" thread?

very clever. very clever indeed . . .

EDIT: Whoa. How in the world could anyone know what game that was? Very nice nesmaster. I'm impressed.

lol no its not like that at all man, i dont care if anyone sees that auctioon or not. almost everyone on this site probably already has a nomad and most are into NES stuff. Anyways yea i never thought about it but after seeing everyone remarks on the TV i kinda really admire it now lol. i did have some great memories playing all my old school games on it. And still do. i remeber we have this one home movie of me and a couple friends when i was like 7 years old playing super mario bros. on this same TV. ahhh great days. lol. Man im never getting rid of this TV come to think about it. Maybe i should gut it and make it super sweet but leave it looking the same. hmmmm ideas ideas.
