Everytime I go with my friend to one of our local pizza parlors this arcade game catches my eye. It's "The Fast And The Furious". I'm not into racing games really.. but to me.. the thing LOOKS beautiful. Very colorful; and nice graphics (IMHO).

I always walk back to the table commenting on it and asked my friend if he knew of a console port (I was thinking Dreamcast). He said there had to be.

Then we go home and I forget about it.

Just remembered today, and decided to check IGN. All I could find was a PS2 and an Xbox game from 2003 that was cancelled. I also know that there is a F&F game to be released which also showed up under a search, but hasn't been released and is based on Tokyo Drift. That can't be the game in the pizzeria though 'cause it's been out for some time.

Anyone know anything about this? What kind of a system is this arcade game running on? It just looks awesome to me. (BTW.. IGN didn't have a listing for the arcade game.. strange.)

Yeah, the game looks VERY pretty, too bad it's got the name of a really crappy movie series. :P

I'm not into racing games that much, but I have seen kids play the game and I do recognize it's fun, at least. :)

From what I can tell, the game runs on the Cruisin' Exotica engine, with a few ricer tweaks to the gameplay. If you enjoy the game, go grab a cheap N64 and Exotica.

I have several N64s, that's no problem; and I did use to have the 1st Cruisin' title for the N64 (Cruisin' USA was it?). I gave that away to a kid one day. I enjoyed the gameplay but I thought the graphics left a little to be desired. Exotica was the last and third title for N64 wasn't it? Does it look better than the first two (and no.. I'm actually NOT a "graphics whore")?

I couldn't really tell you for sure. I've only played the first two for N64. Cruis'n World was a definite improvement over USA, though.

Exotica and World look fairly similar, however both are much improved over USA. Exotica does edge out World ever so slightly.
