Might and Magic Not Working on my Genesis??

I just got this game recently (Might and Magic: Gates to Another World). It can get all the way to the beginning menu where is says:

Go to Towns
Create Character
Delete Character
Initialize Game

After that I try to choose the "Go to Towns" option and I get the following message:

Sorry! Your party information is corrupted. Fixing...

The above message just keeps flashing on and off with the game going nowhere. Maybe it is a problem with the battery or something? Anyways, I am using a Model 2 Genesis.

Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks

try Initialize Game.

sounds like the ram and/or battery is on it's way out

Ah, I already tried to use Initialize Game . It still doesn't work (I'll try it a few more times). I guess I will just have to find a replacement cart or something.
