Is Caslevania: DoS out of print already?? Not a very long run for such a popular franchise. I'm still finding new boxes of Pac-Pix or Kirby's Canvas Curse everywhere I go...
I finally bought a used copy because every store I went to does not have this game.
It took me 4 different stores just to find the used copy!
If you have it - hang on to it for dear life.

It must be a regional deal because I see new copies all over the place.

It does seem pretty hard to find, but worth the price, it's an AMAZING game...I played through the original game 100%, then almost completed the Julius Mode as well and also went back Soul harvesting. Definately worth finding.

i'm definately a castlevaniac. I usualy see plenty of castlevanias for the DS, its odd you are having trouble finding them. It may not be actually rare i the future but could be high in demand which actually makes the available copies high in value.

I saw a couple new copies at Meijers about 2 months ago.
In japan they released a "greatest hits" version of it as well called "Konami the best"

I have a friend here in Pennsylvania who's a huge Castlevania fan that was trying to locate a copy of DoS. He literally called at least a dozen stores in the surrounding area looking for a copy, and no dice. He ended up driving to a store (GameStop I believe) in New Jersey to get a copy. I'd say that's a definate sign it's getting harder and harder to find.
Hell, when I worked at EBGames for a bit, we only got in a total of about 12 copies since it's been out. They would usually go right back out the door the same day we get them. It is a really sweet game, though.

This must be a regional thing. The game is still everywhere up here in WI.
Best game on the DS in my opinion.

I had a hard time keeping them in stock around the holidays but now I've got at least three separate distributors I can get them from. They're not rare, I promise - your local store just isn't taking the opportunity to stock them.

I see em' at many places, but I'm guessing there wasn't a high production run compared to other DS games. Castlevania games always end up being a bit harder to find...(see GBA, PS1 etc.)
Don't count those dreadful PS2 ones. -_-

It wasn't available at most stores, but I picked up a copy on Sunday to go along with my new DS Lite.
It likely isn't rare, considering it was one of the highest selling titles last fall.

It should still be relatively easy to find. My local best buy though sold our last copy the morning the ds lite was released and will not be receiving the game ever again. So it's seems like BB is phasing out the SKU.

I contemplated going back through julius mode, is there anything different with that, aside from the character, I mean ending, etc? thanks.

I haven't seen it at any Gamestops (used or new) or at my local Frys up here in the Seattle area. I asked one of the Gamestop folks about it and he said it was no longer being made. Wha . . . ?
On the other hand, the two Best Buys I've checked out both had it and every online retailer I've checked have had it new and in stock. (At least they did about four weeks ago when I was looking.)
So I dunno what's up with it.

Not sure about rarity, but I can tell you know the game bringing in higher than retail prices online for the DS is Phoenix Wright. The game is freakishly good for a sim.

Interesting... There's a ton of copies of this game all over my area, as if it's littered! I was planning on picking it up after I get my DS lite. Maybe I'll buy a few extra copies from Best Buy when it's a bit cheaper and keep them as "complete, brand new" condition.

Well, no, do count the PS2 ones. Rarity =! availability. People buy up the 2D games. The 3D CVs aren't getting as much love.
