I have two young boys, a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Both of them love dinosaurs. They can't get enough of dinosaurs. They always want me to play Jurassic Park for the Genesis or the SNES version. They like all the Jurassic Park games that I've shown them.

I was wondering, what other games out there have Dinosaurs as a major theme to the game and they were pretty good?

Here is a list of games that I know have Dinosaurs as a relatively big part of the game, I'm sure there are tons more that I'm forgetting.

Jurassic Park - Genesis
Jurassic Park - SNES
Jurassic Park - Sega CD
Jurassic Park Interactive - 3DO
Jurassic Park - NES
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - Xbox
Jurassic Park: The Lost World - Playstation
Jurassic Park: The Lost World - Saturn
Joe & Mac - SNES
Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics - SNES
Turok Dinosaur Hunter - N64
Bonk's Adventure - TG-16
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs - Sega CD
King Kong - Xbox 360

By the way, I would love to see Jurassic Park redone on the Xbox 360 or PS3 with state of the art graphics. The dinosaurs in the 360 version of King Kong look very good, but I would imagine could look much better if it was built from the ground up for next-gen. If they could get the license to use the faces of Sam Neil and Jeff Goldblum and all the original Jurassic Park actors, and some of the actual 5.1 sound libraries of Jurassic Park 1, that would be sweet. I would make it a 3rd person action adventure. The game could basically start from the point when the T-Rex breaks through that fence. At different parts of the games, you would have to control different people, like sometimes you would have to control one of those two kids, or even the dumbass lawyer that gets eaten by the T-Rex or stuff like that. They could even call it, "Jurassic Park: Generations" and have you relive the best moments from all 3 films

Jurassic Park - Genesis
Jurassic Park - SNES
Jurassic Park - Sega CD
Jurassic Park Interactive - 3DO
Jurassic Park - NES
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - Xbox
Jurassic Park: The Lost World - Playstation
Jurassic Park: The Lost World - Saturn
There's also Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition, and the Mega Drive version of The Lost World.

Then there's a PS2 version of Operation Genesis, if that's the Theme Park style one.

Any more Jurassic Park games?

Toy Story has a dinosaur in it.

Radical Rex is all about a dinosaur.

Bonk's Revenge also had dinosaurs, though not as many.

Superior to Adventure, IMHO.

This is pretty much off topic, but can someone explain what wikipedia means by breaking the barrier between FPS and LightGun Games with "Dino Stalker", and is it any good, I'm pretty interested in it, I love Lightgun games.

What was that stupid mini-series with all the dinosaurs recently? Where humans and dinos live together or some nonsense? Anyway, there was a kid-friendly game made from that on current gen hardware.

I remember Dino City for the SNES, and The Adventures of Dino Riki for the NES. There was also Primal Rage which was...well, crap.

I don't know about the Sega CD version, but the dinosaur participation in Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is pretty minimal. In fact, I'm not exactly sure what the dinosaurs are doing in there, as the game is essentially Streets of Rage.

- Flintstones 1 and 2 for NES.
- Big Nose Freakout for NES also have dinosaurs in it.
- One of the bosses in Turtles 3 for NES is a dinosaur (triceratops).
- Jurassic Park - The Lost World for arcade. Its not the same game as the PSX version. The arcade version is a light gun game.

There's a game on the Dreamcast simply called Dinosaur. It doesn't get much respect or even attention actually, but I think it's a fairly decent game overall and kid who already likes dinosaurs would certainly love it. I guess it's based on some Disney movie that your kids have probably seen even though I've never even heard of it myself.

Wasn't there ever a game based on the Land Before Time? Maybe not.

There's also Humans (or Evolution: Dino-Dudes, depending on your platform).

How about We're Back for the SNES based on the movie.

"Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues" for SNES is my personal favorite dinosaur game. It has two-player cooperative, so it's perfect for a couple of brothers to play together, and since you've got half a dozen levels to choose from in the beginning they can see a lot of the game even if they're not old enough to beat it yet. The opening cutscene was nice too, and pretty impressive for the 16-bit era.

I should note you fight some people as well as dinosaurs. I don't find anything wrong with that, and it happens in some of the other games you've played, but as overprotective as some parents are I thought I should mention it.

"We're Back: A Dinosaur's Tale"

I also have that for Genesis. A kids game based on the animated movie. Pretty hard to find, though.

As SirDrexl noted, Gon has appeared as a special fighter in Tekken 3. But he also had his own game on the Super Famicom. He's a small orange dinosaur based on a Japanese manga series.

Yeah, my kids love that movie "Dinosaur" by Disney. They've watched it tons and tons of times. I really should get my hands on that DC game.

As for Land Before Time, I'm pretty sure there have been some PS1 games.

If we're including mecha Dinosaurs, how about the Zoids games. There's quite a few for the GBA and, I believe, the PStwo.

In fact, you can get remote control Zoids that you control via the GBA.

Are we talking Triceratons, or proper Dinosaurs? The Triceratons in the original TMNT comic are uber cool, and incredibly violent.

The Sega CD was a FMV driving game. Has some dinosaurs, but the game is crap.

"Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues" for SNES is my personal favorite dinosaur game.

One of the most under appreciated games ever made. It used the SNES in ways I didn't know the SNES could be used. Thec action (fighting off a T-Rex on the back of a moving jeep) is really beyond anything else from the era.

Super hard though, and the maze-like level design does hinder it.

"Turtles in Time" has some members of the Foot Clan riding some dinosaurs in a "dino stampede" when you travel to the prehistoric time. There are also some flying dinosaurs (i'm too lazy to look up the spelling) but they fly over and drop rocks or something near/on you.

You know, I was actually pleasantly surprised what a solid platformer The Flintsones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak was for NES. I just beat it last week, having never played it before. WAY better game than I thought it would be!

How about TROG! for NES, it was a game about dinosaurs vs. cavemen, hehe.

Also, try Radical Rex for GEN/SNES.... very kiddie-looking platformer about a skateboarding T-Rex.

They'd probably like that.

And yeah, We're Back and Dino City on SNES as well.

The Land Before Time Collection for GBA.

I think there is anotehr Land Before Time game for the GBA, but I don't know what it is called. Also, in the (some lost valley) level of Tomb Raider, you get attacked by several Raptors, and one really big T-Rex.

I totally agree that a new jurassic park game would rock. I would buy that in a heart beat.
