The real question is: Where'd the heck they get 48 thousand NES buttons?

note that this doesn't include the circuit board or the LED. I've never seen a nes with a bad switch so this would only be useful to me for a nes with a messed up buttons.

Still would be super cool to buy a 1000 of them for 50 bucks.

This company specializes in overstocks of electronics and components. I've bought many things from them over the years for other projects and occasionally they do get something game related. Years ago I picked up a few x-band modems on one order, a few boxed 2600 trak balls on another. They are a great company to deal with and you never know what kind of things they might have.

I've dealt with a similiar company locally that has had boxed Lynx power supplies for years. (They want way too much for them so they will stay there but that is a different issue.) These companies will bid and consequently buy almost anything electronics related. Nintendo had 2 options, junk them and loose money or call this company in and get something.

true but its not often you come across a circuit board thats broken, i have acually seen a few nes's with funky buttons...like they were crushing cans when you turned them on
