who here has been playing mostly oblivion since it has come out? I have had a hard time to move onto other games for substantial periods of time. Although I've taken breaks to play through New Super Mario Brothers and a few other games here and there. With all of the things there are to do in that game, it makes me want to finish it so i can move on to something else. I've got something like 110 hrs into it. The only thing that sucks about it is being limited on how many times you can level up your character. How many hours has everybody else gotten into it. Also does anybody know if the collector's edition is out of print yet?
Collectors edition means "Limited to the amount we can sell" so unless its signed, and numbered, don't think its "Limited' although Oblivion did come with some cool extra's to make the 10$ worth it.
I am still playing, I have the theives guide and main quest left, and most of the misc/god quests to do still... I'll play it until thats done, then download the extra's..... I'm betting then the expansion will be out.

I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I find myself coming back to the game every few days or so...and I see this trend continuing for the foreseeable future. I "finished" the game and achievements back in April, but I've logged another 40+ hours since.

Incidently, what is the level cap in Oblivion?
Incidently, what is the level cap in Oblivion?
You major skills, once you have maxed them out at 100, you no longer level up.
Save all your skill books until after you max out at 100, those will boost you passed 100 (although its hard to tell if a book is a skill book...)

How do you pick up a book without looking at it first?
I've been playing lots of other things, but I'm still coming back to Oblivion pretty frequently. Most often when I'm online on my laptop playing poker heh.

I quit when I could not find a challenging fight anymore. The expansion packs are fairly meaningless to a high level character also. I think I hit 90 hours before it was over, did not bother with the Thieves Guild, though I started the Dark Brotherhood...it was too easy though after completing the Mage's Guild and Fighter's Guild...
Hope theirs a real expansion before the sequel...

I went mental when this game came out and had played through it four times before most people here had done it once through. One day I turned it off and started playing other stuff. I haven't touched it since. Which doesn't mean that I won't again. I had the entire game memorized to the point where I was running through the quests without even having to think about them, which got bland. Besides that, I REALLY want another 360 RPG to settle in and enjoy.....but where the hell are they? I hope that we aren't getting shafted on the RPG front with THIS console too. Mr Moore promoised otherwise. :/

I wouldn't worry... no console I'm aware of was ever RPG-rich within the first year of sales. RPG development is usually a longer cycle than most other genres.

well Enchanted Arms is comming out for the 360 in August. Its gonna be a turnbased rpg, and thats what i'm waiting on. I definately love turn based rpgs, but oblivion for me is right up there. Check out screenshots of enchanted arms when u get a chance, it looks pretty freakin' cool.

I'm addicted to The Elder Scrolls, so by association, I'm addicted to Oblivion, though I don't have an Xbox 360 yet.
So, I've been playing Arena and Daggerfall via DOSBox (on a Macintosh, and they run better than they do on my PC. Go figure.) and I've also been doing Morrowind again. Yes, I'd rather be playing Oblivion, but these will have to do for now.

LOL
Naw, nothing wrong.....the game was so rich in atmosphere that I kept dreaming up the next "improved" character as I was playing through with the current one. As most of you know, a Morrowind character doesn't really work in Oblivion, so there was always some tweaking to do. It was exciting and I played until burnout. I still haven't played an Argonian....yet, and still haven't quite decided what the ultimate super character would be. I work two jobs in RL as well!!!
And yeah, August is looking good. I really do miss the planning and strategy of a nice turn-based battle. Hopefully that kind of RPG will slowly return to favor.

the only Elder Scrolls game that I've actually played has been Oblivion. My buddy is trying to tell me that morrowind is a larger scale game. I don't know how true it is since i haven't played it. Oblivion is awesome just for the visuals (if you have HD). When the sun is setting and you're standing in front of th main gates of the imperial city looking out at the reflection of the water. When I first started playing this game, I was shocked a the scenery. The music definately fits the mood of the game perfectly too. I hope they come out with some downloads for it that increases the max level up somehow. I love Oblivion but I think it would have been much better if you could just keep on getting stronger. I know eventually it would take a lot of the challenge, but I'm an RPG experience points addict.

Morrowind feels like a much larger game because your options for fast travel are extremely limited. Getting anywhere in that game feels like a major accomplishment, and tracking down some mark as an assassin, travelling over the entire game world, gives you the same thrill as beating your average ENTIRE game hehe.
