My boss is looking for a "take you're turn whenever" strategy game. What I mean is that one of the two players take a turn and then the other player can log in at any time and take a turn. It needs to be 2 player because he only wants to play with one friend. Basically either player can log in and see if it's their turn and then take it if it is.

It can be a commercial program or a free one. It doesn't have to have amazing graphics. I would prefer that it be a game that's on an online server rather than a direct connection (or at least the actual game in play is kept on the server).

Also, they're looking for something closer to rish, axis and allies, or command and conquer rather than worms.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Space Empires IV sounds like it'd be up his alley:

There's alot of turn based war games for the PC that are designed to be played via email. The Operational Art of War is one of the more popular ones. These games aren't really so casual, though -- pretty hardcore war strategy games.

Check out Matrix Games's (http://www.matrixgames.com/) website, they sell TOAW and other games of its type. I've played alot of Gary Grigsby's World at War, it's pretty fun, like a more complicated Axis and Allies.

I have also been looking for something like this for me and a few buddies of mine to play. We are all Apple users though. Any suggestions anyone?

Some of those games on the links you guys posted looked really fun.
