As I was going through the CD's at a goodwill I came across 2 discs of what looked to be a set(Volumes 1 and 4 I think I saw), I assume they were educational games but they said not for sale(or commercial sale(something like that)) I didn't pick them up for the sole reason that I had no idea if they were anything special.
Can anyone tell me what they are(even though my description isn't the greatest)?

Damn dude. ALWAYS pick stuff up like that when you don't know what it is. Those sounds like Lightspan games, which are pretty durned rare. Chances are though that no one else knows what they are either, so go back and grab em!

They were probably Lightspan games. Dangerboy or any other PSX expert around here could tell you more about them.

It sounds about right, I think these were Math games, I was going to pick them up but then I didn't because my mom(cause I was out shopping with her) talked me out of buying them, a Banjo-Kazooie VHS(rental/retail store one) and a Jimi Hendrix Experience record.

With out a doubt those would be lightspan discs.
Yes they were (and are kinda sorta) special as they were never released for sale to the public, but just to educational centers (schools and home school facilities) to help your kids get their learn on.
Since the place has been aquired and most of the games have been in a liquidation pattern on ebay, they arn't nearly as rare as they used to be, but there are still a few titles that are pretty damn impossible to get ahold of.
For being completely done in-house they are VERY well done. Cheesy and not really games in the sense that we tend to think of games, but some of them are pretty spifferific.
If your a big PS collector and they are a few bucks a pop, they arn't a bad pickup by any means. But if your looking for some real 'meat' in them, just skip em. A complete disc (this accounts for about 95% of the games) will just come in a sleeve and on the back side of the sleeve is a card that talks about the game and what kind of edutainment it serves.

They may be worth a bit, but if you buy games to play them, well, skip them.

If they read "Cool Math" buy them and I'll take care of you.
Check for memory cards too, if you ever see a memory card with Lightspan on it (be it hand written or printed) I'll really take care of you. :)
