Well in the Arcade world I am a n00b but you got to start some where. I picked up a Double Dragon cab today and I got it home sitting in my bar with my cars. I plug it in hit the switch on the top and nothing, so I go to the back and the panel was missing but didn't think. So I hit the white button and it turns on and no sound and just a green screen with lines in it. I mess around with it not damaging anything and I pull out the game board and the same thing on the sceen happens. The screen has burnt images and this cab is far from fair condition. I got it for free and hoping to convert it to a MVS or Playchoice.

Thanks

First thing to do is check voltages the power supply is putting out.

No thanks to anybody I fixed it. I beat it already too (on free play :D ). The PSU was disconnected from the little sub-board and some carefull adjusting of the monitor waw needed. I'll add some pics to the first post. The one thing that confuses me is in the JAMMA connector there is only 28 pins and I thought that there should be 44. I don't care it was FREE and it works now  .

What do you guys think this cab is worth? I might just sell it, and pick up a cab I want at a super auction.

I'd guess maybe $150. Maybe somewhat more if you were to sell it on ebay. Not sure how much they usually go for on there though.

I just seen a local one goe for $200 in better condition so that seems right.
I also just seen a Mr. Do's Castle with a screen problem for $10 with no bids or reserve and pickup only and its near me and would it be worth it.

Double Dragon is like the only JAMMA board I actually want that I constantly get outbid on. They are always on eBay for $20 or so and then they go up the last five mins. I don't even know why I want it, it plays just fine in MAME.

Yes I know you pm'd me about the board when I first mentioned it. I might actully sell it though, cab and all, since it is in poor condition and I beat it 3 times already. I have a local person that might be interested in it too.

I don't really see the allure of having games like this in your home. I suppose if you limited yourself to a certain amount of credits or something, then you could see your skill progress, but otherwise it's just pump it full of credits and mash buttons until it's over.

"Pump it full of credits"?? All I need is one.... 8-)

I don't mean to ask so many questions but,
What is an Astroids and a Street Fighter 2 worth?

I looked on KLOV and I didn't realize their were so may variations and I don't know which one it is.

Asteroids? $300-$800, give or take.

Street Fighter 2? Dedicated, $300 or so. Conversion, less.

It's a fair deal. :) PC cabs aren't my bag, but if you really like 'em, jump on it.

Street Fighter 2? Dedicated, $300 or so.

You find me a dedicated Street Fighter II, please. I was under the impression that it was conversion only. If not, I definitely want to see it!

SFIICE was dedicated, but I think you're correct that the original SFII(The World Warriors) was kit only.

There are dedicated versions of World Warrior, Championship Edition and Hyper Fighting. From how I understand it, WW and CE were shipped out of the warehouse in the generic 19-inch Dynamos (although they are popular conversion cabs, some people would still consider this dedicated since it was the cab shipped from the factory). Supposedly there was a bit of an issue with CE being advertised as a limited edition non-kit to ops. Once all those orders were placed and machines shipped, Capcom changed their tune and made the kit form available (pissing off ops everywhere). Hyper Fighting dedicated is the good old red 25 inch Z-Backs. People tend to mistake these guys for dedicated Neo Geo’s (I tend to see sellers make this mistake about a machine they’re selling…hmm…wonder why ;P). In this neck of the woods these things are everywhere and are favorites for 25-inch conversions (I own 2 and love them…next to the big blue machines, this is probably my favorite Capcom related cabinet).

Well I would hate to interupt on the Street Fighter 2 thing. The cab was bought it now and the guy was fradgulent and I thought the account looked funny so I sent him a message. So the guy asked me if I wanted it I could have it for $375. I did notice some thing wrong with the cab, the one side art is riped up a bit and the coin door is solid no where for mechs to go. I am going over to check it out in person first, but is it still a fair deal. ( it s a lot better then another one I found that the lady wanted $1000 for just because her grand kids play it)

Oh and I am keeping the DD and I am cheeply restoring it and it is going to sit in a friends ice cream place to make some money.

Well I bought it, for $350. Its in my basement and I love it. I just need some more games. The fun part is the ground on the controller board fell off and if you touch the bolts you get shocked ( that'll teach my friends to play my games). Its not as minty as it looks in the pics but it is solid, original and works. The guy even through in some buttons for my DD.

I must've been thinking about one of the others in the lineage. I paid $25 for my first SFII cabinet and wasn't able to sell it for much more.
