Is it the one for the snes?
:embarrassed:
I, I know nothing?
I think you meant to say which console hosts the best version of 'Frogger'?
It depends,
I mean how many different versions have you played on different machines? Can you compare?

I remember playing Frogger on the Intellivision. That's about the only console I played it on. Hmm, I guess I'll try and find it so I can play it again. :D

Probably a toss between the 2600 Supercharger version and the new 7800 port being written.

I hear the Genesis version is pretty good as well. My favorite is the 2600 Supercharger version, I prefer it over the arcade! LOL

Yes, the super charger version is sweet! If anyone has a super charger, try to get this game, it's well worth it.

I can say that I do not like the PSX version, that's all I've really played...

I'd hate to tell you the bad news but the PSX version is the worst.
I think the Genesis version is the best by far as it's almost a perfect arcade carbon copy.

Yeah, I would say the Genesis one is the best. The Supercharger one is quite a bit better than the regular 2600 version. It was the best console port back in the day.

If this counts as a 'console' - my vote goes to the C64 version.
The music on the c64 version blew away the arcades. Graphics were great, as well.
Oh - NOT the Parker Bros. version, but the Sierra Online version.
(well - it had Sierra on the opening screen... my copy was on a disc full of odd games)

I have only ever played it on an old computer (C64?) and Atari 2600. Both were good. Otherwise, I logged most of my hours on the arcade game.

No contest: Genesis. A clone of the Arcade, from graphics to sound.

Thirds on that. While I've never played any version but the 2600 version, I just read that the Genesis game is an arcade perfect port. Is there a better playing/looking version of the original game than the arcade?

I liked the SNES one. Basically the same but with enhanced graphics.
The 2600 Supercharger version would be my pick as well for best Console Frogger version. It kicks butt!!!

You know, I've never actually owned a single version of Frogger and I consider myself highly old-schopol. My word, what's wrong with me?! :(
Well at least now I know the Genesis version is the one to grab.
This always perplexed me about Frogger, the game's star. He's a frog and yet he cannot swim. How can a freaking frog not know how to swim?! That's like having a brain and not knowing how to use it.

Um... he's cursed! That's it! And the object of the game is to free him from this terrible burden!
Or maybe the water is polluted due to all the highway traffic, and the actual goal of the game is to defeat the evil polluters once and for all!
Or not.

I'd pick the Genesis version over the SNES game ANY TIME. Have you played the SNES game? The gameplay is ok but IT HAS NO MUSIC. Seriously, how much effort could it have taken to include fricking music? This game must use the smallest memory chip ever made for the SNES. O_O

1986,Christmas, I was 5 years old, and while some of you probably opened an NES that year I opened an Atari 2600 Jr. and 6 games. And I was happy... and one of those games was Frogger. Me and my sister played the hell outta that.
Fast Forward.
1995, Spring, I was at a Holiday Inn hotel. Down between the pool and the excercise room was 3 arcade machines. A Darts game (ugh) (fun to spin the trackball tho!), Samurai Showdown, and a cocktail version of frogger! Needless to say aside from the many quarters sunk into Samurai Showdown I had to try Fogger too, for old time's sake.
And I hated it. The gameplay was the same but everything was... off... the colors... like an acid trip on some 4 color monitor of the 80's. The controls... stickier... he didn't jump quite the same... and the oriention is so long now...
I am spoiled on the 2600 version, to me THAT version is better than the any other!

and Yes the genesis version is a damn near perfect arcade port.
by the way anybody else remember the quote "Have you heard of Arcade Games like Frogger? Then You've heard of Sega!" on the box for the Sega Master System (at least mine had it, the one with HangOn/SafariHunt built in)

I don't know if their the best versions? But I sure find myself playing the Genesis and Colecovision Froggers the most.

The Genesis Frogger was quite good, I thought the SNES version seemed off
