yesh!

any suggestions? would simply taping it up be a logical choice? Scotch tape? Duct tape? Another suggestion? I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the package and the game came out like that! Never seen anything like that before...

also, this is a different game, without remedy unfortunately (other than buying another copy of it) but it's all good. This one I'm just sharing the horror some people treat their games in.

that's how the game came to me. @_@

Well.. Id patch the hole with piece of stiff padded sticky tape, but since it seems to be below where it goes into the cart slot you might want to stick to something thin like electric tape..

If you have the special Nintendo screwdriver and a game you dont want, you could swap the boards out.

is that hole in the first pic melted or chipped?! :/

Id just tape it up w/ masking tape

If you wanted to get fancy, you could open the cartridge up, superglue a filler piece of thin plastic in over the hole (a piece of one of those thin plastic "For Sale" signs that sell for 50 cents at a hardware store would work), then get yourself some Durham's Water Putty (also from the hardware store) and some gray, black, and white acrylic paint. Mix some of the paint in with the Durham's Water Putty to try to get a somewhat close match for the color, slop it in, texture it a little, and you'll have something that probably won't be an exact match, but it'll look a little nicer than a piece of duct tape.

Wow that looks like someones dog bit the crap out of it. Can you replace the backside of the cartridge with another cartridge. Like a cheap copy of Madden or something. Seems like a simple solution compared to the "art" project posted above.

It looks like it was chewed by a dog.

I'd suggest what was said above - to replace the back of the cartridge with the back of a crap cart.

Though that would solve the back part of the problem, but as one can see, the front is damaged as well. So using a new case and printing out a new label (if you have printer compatible label paper to print on) would work. It just depends on what cartridge and how hard is it to find. And do you want to go through the effort.

What is the game by the way?

hopefully its not earthbound heh LOL ... my simple solution would be get a cheap sports game for $1 or $2 and swap the rear casing thats what i did in the past real simple !

My suggestion ould be to do nothing. Just keep it clean.

If its a a game i realy care about looking nice then id swap the case

otherwise id cover the hole with electrical tape, clean the rest, and leave it as it is

Same here, except I'd probably pitch it if it's easy (i.e. cheap) to replace.

Or get rid of it. Why would you want a busted carrt like that in yout collection anyway, unlkess it's really rare? Unless you just wanted to play the game and then keeping it clean should suffice. No fix besides replacing the back of the cart is going to look good, that's for sure.

The one with the hole in the back is Strike Gunner STG -- a little known shooter.

The one with dog bites is... ironically, Out to Lunch :P

I'd probably tape STG up. Out to Lunch obviously I can't do anything and the condition doesn't bug me much, just thought while I have you here I'll show you a pic of that game as well.

I guess a few of you can't read that those two carts were different. For the one with the busted back, grab a crappy sports game and replace it. It'll be good as new. And the other one, either live with it or buy a new one, thats up to you.

dig a hole in the yard and give it a proper burial.
