Did anyone keep the SE pics from the DL collectibles sale on ebay a while back?

As far as I can tell, all games released before some date around jan 88 exist in a hangtab box variant.

I was quite surprised that the SE I bought had a non-hangtab box... I had always thought it would be one of those games available only in a hangtab box like dk math etc.

So I'm thinking the box must exist in both versions as the release date is 9/87.. can anyone confirm?

Mine doesn't have a hangtab.

Also I believe the box I sold to portnoyd did not have a hangtab.

I would not think this has a hangtab version due to the small number created in the first place

Let me ask you this then.. what's the significance of the series 2 notation? I'm pretty sure someone mentioned it once but I forget.

I know it seems like there shouldn't be a variant, but there are more variants out there than one would think... I was surprised to find a dk math variant for example.

Just seems strange that a september 87 game like this wouldn't have a hangtab version... makes no sense.

The Series 2 notation shows that it was the 2nd game in the Bandai Family Fun Fitness series.

Also seems strange, but SE seems to have come only in 3 screw too. It seems to me that the lines are blurred a little bit more than people think.

There were 3 screw games and 5 screw games made in 1987 (I've checked the dates on the roms so I know that for sure). I even have a 5 screw "golf" that has the rev-a printed on the sticker on the back (not imprinted a but revision a). It's the only 5 screw I've ever seen with it on the back label.

It's also been speculated that all 5-screw games had the hangtab boxes, but I think that it's intirely possible that there are inconsistencies in 1897.

Nintendo doesn't worry about consistency for collector's sake. Nintendo slapped labels on carts and shoved carts in boxes and shipped them out the door to make as much money as possible. I therefore believe that there are many inconsistencies in the transition period between hangtab/no hangtab, 3 screw/5 screw, and even the printed white "rev-a" back label. I still personally wonder what the white "rev-a" really means.

Yeah, I think you're right about that. The lines do get blurry in late 1987 and I'm sure both types of boxes were being produced at that time. I just thought september was still relatively safe as I've seen the other sept 87 games in hangtabs, but I guess it's just one of those things.

Winter Games and Wizards & Warriors did not have hangtag boxes, but came in 5-screw form. This info comes from being original owner of those titles.

I argue that if it's a hangtag box (US releases), then it is a 5-screw cart. However, the converse: If it is a 5-screw cart, then it came from a hangtag box is NOT true. Canada had hangtag boxes for some of their 3-screw carts including Mike Tyson.

Also, I've only ever seen Stadium Events as a 3-screw.

5 screw athletic world also came in a non-hangtag box and a hangtag box. hangtag box is super rare, non-hangtag box is common/uncommon. I know for a fact! I bought a brand new non-hangtag round nintendo seal version of the game, opened it and found a five screw FFF pad atheletic world.

8bitnes is right concerning winter games and wizards and warriors coming in non-hangtag boxes, but I think there could have been hangtag boxes for these games, instead Epyx and Acclaim had extra first gen. games to get rid of and tossed them in the boxes w/o hangtags (just like the FFF pad five screw athletic world cart).

my overall opinion; All 5 screw games had hangtags, even those two that 8bitnes mentions, but as said before not all 5 screw cartridges came in hangtag boxes.

Also, I've only ever seen Stadium Events as a 3-screw.

I was just about to go upstairs and check my copy to see if it were a 3- or a 5-screw. But then I realized that my copy used to be your copy. I guess there's no point in me checking, is there ;).

does anybody have a copy of the price list dl-collectibles made? I used to have on my comp, but a reformat killed it.

not sure if it is still there but it used to be on the nintendo nerd website under 'links' or 'price guides' or something like that..

That link is dead. From nintendonerd it linked directly to dlcollectibles website, which is no longer up.

dammit.... I'm trying to do an itemized list for another user on here about a purchase he's contemplating, and I really wanted to use the dlcollectibles list as one of my sources.
