I didnt really like it to much till.
That the fact that the graphics were too dark , gameplay was the same(still fun) and didnt hear the music to great.
But I got a nintendo ds lite and kinda turned it around a bit for me , sure the gameplay is the same , but the game simply looks amazing on the ds lite all the colors man , and character designs look amazing if anyone has seen it , also I dont know if its just me ( i think it made the game sound better as well) .

yes I actually did notice the DS lite makes a lot of the color and detail stand out much better. I don't know so much about the sound being a great deal better. But the lighter screen definately makes it look that much better. I think a DS lite is worth the purchase even if you do own a reular DS. I just hold onto my old one in case anybody wants to play some 2 player or something. But try going from Dawn of Sorrow to Aria of Sorrow and you'll notice a big difference in those two titles as far as visuals go. I didn't think there was much difference until i went back to the older GBA ones. Try checking that out.

What I noticed on the DS lite is at the highest brightness setting, when you kill something that dies with flame in a dark place (like the eyeball creature near the beginning) the flame that comes out is super bright :D I love it.
By the way.. 30+ hours into Castlevania DS. I just finished it LOL

The game really comes alive in Hard Mode. The trick, of course, is to sell everything and begin again from scratch. The game becomes hard again. Classic Castlevania hard. Yay!
I killed waaay too many hours on DoS. I'm sure most of the DS owners here have.

I'm playing it right now on my Lite and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I'm about 6 hours in and about 68% done.

The strange thing for me was that I had the 3rd GBA game (Aria of...something) plugged in when I started Dawn of Sorrow, but I didn't get the bonus items that I was supposed to when the game started. I am going to have to try to start a new one sometime and see what happens.

They finally got this game restocked in my area but it was limited! My friend picked it up 3 days ago at Best Buy and is loving it, but finding it quite difficult. I wondered up there today because I just got paid and can go grab it but it's sold out around the corner so I'm going to have to dash across to the other city when I get off work at 9pm and get one of the 2 last copies they have. I'll keep everyone informed of if I manage to get it. :D

I'm not 100% sure but to get the special item at the start you need the GBA game AND a finished game file on it.
This game brought the series back to life for me, since the last couple of releases just felt like failed attempts to creat another SOTN.

Yes, you need to have aria of sorrow with a completed game file. A lot of people had problems when the game came out and found out they had pirate copies they had gotten online, which won't give you the item because it lacks a simple line of code. Glad I buy all my gba stuff new.
God damn it now you tell me, ugh goodbye free items.
