So I've finally decided to crack away and unlock some things in this game. After playing for awhile I got this "win icon" unlocked for Ken, but what is it? I played as him a few times and didn't see anything special show up on his little victory screen. Anyone know what it is because I've been searching around the web and for images that could explain it but have no clue.
Also, who has beaten Akuma or some of the other "hidden" characters? They are pretty much set on most difficult mode and it's hard as hell to beat some of these characters that randomly drop gems or have no well-defined counter pattern.
Heads up though though, I'm duking it out on the Saturn version and I don't know by how much it varies ffrom the Playstation one.

back in the day me and the bro cleared everything in the PSX version. Was a blast though infuriating at times. Luckily with the 1 round thing, you just need to get lucky 1 time...
great game, I haven't played it in a year or so though... should pop it in for a go.

The new win icons are the round win indicators under the character. They change from a simple W to a little pic depending on the character.
The best way to take Akuma is build early before he drops his brutal pattern on top. Then you can chip away little by little, pushing his higher, and them blast him with the stuff you made earlier. That should be enough, but it will take a few runs to get it right. You need to move quick before he has a chance to start breaking his own pieces.

Ya, Akuma is a real dickhead. I've tried cracking at him so many times and he pisses me off before I can beat him. There's been a few close calls but then he'll get the diamond or some cheap color breaker that'll kill half the pending color changing gems. If and when I do unlock him I can see us banning the use of his character in PvP due to his randomness, unless both players choose him. As for Dan though, he's so freaking funny, Mr. red happy!

Are you playing the PSX version or the DC version?

Keep in mind you get the diamonds every 25 turns. You can keep a count in your head, and if your close, start dropping blocks like mad until you get one.[/quote]

BTW, one time while playing the Saturn version instead of a diamond I got something else -- Chun Li's bracelets? I played 100s of hours with PF and never saw this glitch before, neither has anyone else who I talked with.
When I saw her bracelets raining down on my field I got excited maybe I discovered a secret, but it added just as a diamond and the game probably glitched to mix up the symbols, is my best logical guess.
Anyone else get something like this, ever?
Never saw it again....

Can't say I ever saw the bracelets. Sure would be interesting to see it! It sounds familiar to the ownage the donkey in Worms does. :D

I think I've unlocked everything except Devilot, and I'm now positive that the game cheats in favor of the CPU, although I should have already known that.
Capcom always uses unfair damage and cheap tricks to compensate for their pitiful AI.
