..these can be found? Its a pirate, pretty tough to find. But Dracula 2 Famicom never got a cartridge release, so its interesting.

Hmm, isn't that artwork from Knightmare 2? I recall having seen one of these at Gamechoice.co.hk (or whatever) some years ago, and I never really figured out what it was, apparently.

Um, the upper kanji says "Majou Densetsu". It's got nothing to do with Akumajou Densetsu (Castlevania III).
See http://knightmaresaga.msxblue.com/galious/index.htm for screens from the MSX version.
Where'd you get the idea that it was a pirate, and that it had Dracula II on it?

Dracula 2 Noroi no Fuuin, not Akumajo Densetsu.
Should have clarified.. though it says Dracula 2 up there.
Looks like the Famicom version of Knightmare 2 allright.
This thing has been floating around sites for a while. It originally was on an ebay auction years ago and advertised as a Dracula game, hence the beginning of the confusion.
Thanks for clearing that up.
(Not that there arent Dracula 2 pirate carts in existence)

yup, knightmare 2: maze of galious
I have a copy of that myself
not a very hard to find game at all, I beleive i paid 2$ for it on ebay about a year ago.
what do you want to know about it exactly?
its a fun but very hard and confusing sidescroller, sorta a mix of castlevania and tower of druaga, one of the better konami games that didn't make it over to the us.
theres also an msx version that has somewhat differnt level design and a better subscreen.

Though it isnt Castlevania related directly, it does look fairly fun. Im a big Konami fan and I may pick this one up when I finally get my hands on a Sharp twin. Thanks for the info Blitz. :)

its definatly konami at its best, if you like it i'd recomend trying out the msx version, its a really good game, just hard as hell. I think it was also konami's first game where you could choose between two diffferent charecters with differnt abilities

Speaking of MSX -
To keep from cluttering the board with new topics, would anyone know the best Japanese MSX2 unit to buy? Id be looking for a controller most like an NES if possible..

Wow! I was totally unaware of the Knightmare series. Knightmare II looks like a fragmented Xanadu game. This is very good.
I'm now looking to pick up the Famicom version. If anyone wants to unload a copy, I'd be glad to buy it from them.

Bingo.
Found one, the owner isnt willing to sell but its interesting to look at. Apparently it has a hacked NES CV2 on it, with the Japanese title logo.
