View Full Version : RIVEN (PS) at $23???
Awright, what gives here? My wife got this for me a just a couple birthdays ago, for no more than $10. Played it, loved it, sold it as part of my personal effort to thin my collection of games I wont/dont play (again, in some cases.)
A month or so ago, I was in a local game store & saw it for $20 used. WTF, I thought- what a ripoff. I'd had it for less than half that.
Now I see browsing GameStop it's at $23 used! WHY? What's going on? It's IIRC the only 5-disc PS game out there, but has virtually no replay value & is best only in a set w/ Myst & Myst III: Exile.
Educate me, o my gaming brethren!

I just saw this game at Gamestop earlier this week for $4.99.
I know they have lowered their prices on almost all PS1 games, since they will be discontinuing them. Maybe the $23 was an old price sticker?

i think $23 is a decent price for that game. the whole myst series were great games and each one around $20 is very fair to pay for them. yes nothing will ever beat the first one, but riven has its moments too! ;)

That's like saying $100 is a fair price for Hotel Mario.
Only the Saturn versions of Riven are worth anything.

Both of those games are worthless these days. They made so many copies they FLOODED the market. It's the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt of PC gaming!

Not completely unrelated, but there's at least 1 other 5 disc PS title, that being Tokimeki Memorial 2.

I got my copy of Riven for about £6 ($10 ish). Ironically, when trying to get hold of a copy of Myst, I found it much cheaper to get it in a charity bundle with Road Rash and Broken Sword than solus. Naturally, I still bought it Solus... :-/
