Megaman power colors 1-6

I made this image as a little research for beadsmithery and i figured i'd post it and see if it would generate a discussion. Click for bigger. And yes I know they all have a couple blue pixels between their arms, it was from the page i grabbed them from and i didn't notice until halfway through and i was too lazy to fix it.

games 1-6, from left to right. i attempted to place similar colors in similar slots. notice that the almost exact same green is used 5 times!! and there's 7 different pink/purple suits over the course of 6 games. the blue one in the bottom row is skull man's power btw, not megaman's normal color. the big one is his normal color.

personally i kinda like napalm man's suit (the blue and orange), as well as the "and grey" colors, ie hard man magnet man and elec man (blue and grey, red and greay, and grey/yellowish).

Interesting to see how many colors they have reused. I suppose thats just NES limitations?

Very nicely done. I'm a huge fan of the Megaman series and I too like the Napalm and POW suits. Now get working on Megaman X :D

Pretty much, total color palette of 256 to choose from, 16 colors onscreen at any given moment. Some of those colors were assigned to be transparent too, so it's no surprise Capcom reused color schemes.

Megaman is so awesome. I'm a pretty huge Megaman fanboy too, and I usually liked any of his darker blue colors, like when you beat Hardman (If not Hardman, the big blue dude. I'm sure its him) in the first Mega Man.

Mega Man is one of the first things that got me into gaming. I've always loved the blue bomber. As others have said, it is funny to see how many times capcom reused the power colors on the various games. I never really noticed until now, so I guess it works. ;)

I thought it was 52 colors to choose from. The SMS had 256, I believe, though.

More colors could be achieved by dithering, I believe.
