According to an article in Joystiq, the Aussie Xbox site has Street Fighter 2 slated to release on July 30th.

Now come on Microsoft, July 30th? I know if it doesn't appear on most peoples Live lists for download by Tuesday, alot of people are gonna start getting super pissed off.

me being one of them - I'm sick of waiting for this god damn game. How hard can it be to port this game? Seriously? Especially one that has been on practically every system known to man, since the SNES..

And teasing us with those pathetic excuses for themes? That's just cold.

Man, that game is awesome. It better come out when it should. Even though I don't have a 360, it would still be the first game I'd download if I did have one.

My friend has a 360, and I love playing those old games they let you download. Smash TV = a good hour or two of fun with two people.

i think capcom is mad about the lag issues on the game online.

It's not like they've never released an xbox live game, and they played fine online.

Sounds like a lame excuse, maybe they are just lazy.

Don't forget about the 'for matching service' games that Capcom released on Dreamcast as well.

what they are actually trying to do is one of two things.

A. there could be some issues in which they are actually tied up in as of right now. Things such as lag or even bugs and whatever else goes wrong. I'd rather wait the extra month than get a buggy version that sucks.

B. They are releasing the desktop themes and gamerpics so people will get all excited about the game and hype it up. So when they finally do release the game, nobody is going to be able to wait and everybody is going to buy it right away. Which in buisiness theory, "time is money". Well the more they sell right off the bat, the better it is for microsoft/capcom to be able to get thier profit and put it into something else.

Or they are seeing how well that GRAW 1200 point download is doing, if it does well, guess what the price for SF2 is...

I won't buy it at that price, no way, but thats my choice, I'm sure it will get bought anyway

One thing I don't understand is - why dont they release a demo at the very least?

No online play? Certian playable characters? That should be a no brainer!

They could have at least teased us with that! There is no reason why they can't (at least) put ot a demo.

Even if the final game isn't ready. I'd even be content with a demo!

Because that's not how XBLA games work. You get a trial and a Full version and you get them at the same time. Besides from what we've been hearing from the people playing with it off PartnerNet even a trial wouldn't pass MS Quality Assurance.

July 30th would be great, my b-day! Now if you all could chip in and buy me a 360 you'd have the pleasure of beating my face in online.

No? Well I tried.
