Wait for it to become widely available? Hope for that preorder? Camp? or is there someother way you are getting it?

Me, I'm getting a couple of friends and camping right outside of Best Buy.

Preorder early and have to delivered to my door on launch day. Then settling down with some coke/coffee and various heart clogging treats and vegging for 48-72 hours.

I just found out today my EB won a sales contest for DS sales and i won a DS lite and a Wii wich i will get after the launch ( don't know what that means yet but that's what they told me. ) so i can't wait, the only question is what games do i want first?

You probably wont get them, so don't hold your breath.

Pre-Order as soon as EB starts taking them.

Yeah they will. Gamestop/EB were holding a contest with each store that sold the most DS systems, won a Wii. Thus, their store must have won their region!

I don't pre-order anything, so I'll probably just take my chances and try to get one on launch night. If I don't get it right at the start, it won't be that big of a deal to me anyway, because I'm really waiting for Super Mario Galaxy.

if you are going to take a chance to get one on launch day that means you do want one. Why wouldn't you pre-order it and get it on the launch day?

If the price is $199, then I'll try to preorder one at EB/GameStop when they start taking pre-orders. Otherwise try to get one at Target or something on launch day. But no camping for me. Not for the Wii anyways.

If the price is more than $199, then I'm going to pass on it, until they have a deal for it that is too good to be true.

Well, if they can assure me I'll get one on the first day and don't force me to buy a bundle, I may just do that. I want to wait to see what the price will be first though.

Ive worked for eb for 4 years and won over 20 contests. Only actually saw the prizes for a few. Certain companies just take so long to send the winnings. Im still waiting over a year for a prize.

Just dont want you to be upset if you dont actually get it.

Anyways, i hope you do.

i'm really not gonna worry about it. personally i doubt there will be a shortage. not to say it won't be in high demand, i just think nintendo will make enough of them for everybody. when the gamecube launched i got the first one as soon as walmart opened, but i didnt need to because they had plenty. now, undoubtedly the Wii will sell better than the GC, but i still think Nintendo's gonna have the demand met for this launch. so, how will i get my Wii? I'll walk into Wal-Mart anytime I feel like I want one and buy it.

I'll wait until I see how the damn thing works before I purchase one, it's still beating out the PS3 in the longshot tho.

Me, I'm getting a couple of friends and camping right outside of Best Buy.

Me and my friend were planning on getting one when Smash Bros. Brawl is released, so we can play together online (It is going to be online, right? Correct me if I'm wrong on this). He's already started his trash talking about Marth laying it on Pit when Marth hasn't even been officially announced in the game. LOL

When I brought my Gamecube over to my friends house and got some 4 player fighting going, it would always come down to me (Link) and my aforementioned friend (Marth). We had such epic battles because we both knew all the moves, knew when to dodge, etc. It was fun to watch.

I'll have to grab Mario and/or Zelda if I get a Wii too.

Working in Retail, being in charge of the Electronics Department with a tighter grip than the person who ran it when the Xbox 360 came out, I will do my best to grab one for myself the minute they come in. I WILL have one on launch dat 99% sure. (Gotta leave that very small 1% chance they will sneak in.) Even if I don't put one aside for myself, I WILL camp outside the store at 4AM. ;) Though I doubt the launch will be as big as the 360's was so I can't see too many people camping. But I could be wrong.

Depends on the demand. If it goes as expected, I will be getting my system in early 2007 (I can wait - the first batch will probably have issues anyway - as with all new systems)

Preorder simple as that.

Btw i'm not worry about, Nintendo having a shortage either.

I'm lucky enough to get first dibs on anything that is big or might be to my tastes. If there's a big title that arrives or a new console coming out, my local shop automatically holds one for me. He already knows that I want a Wii IF Nintendo's price is really as low as they are hinting at.

Has nintendo every have problems with there first batch though? I still own my day one gamecube, works perfectly.

I suppose I am tempted to pre-order. It would actually be my first pre-order for a system. And I don't even pre-order many games, in truth. For hardware, I usually pop to a store to buy it.

I guess I'll just take a day off work on launch day, head down to a local shop nice and early and lay claim to one. As much as I want the Wii to be a runaway success, I really don't think I'll have trouble picking one up on launch day.

Nintendo are known for having no issues on launch.

I'll probably be preordering online so I'm gauranteed to get one. I'm not a big fan of camping out. Although that is tempting for the Wii.

I also agree, Nintendo has never had major issues on launch units.

If I have enough money, I'll preorder it, along with Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess. Otherwise, I may swing by Best Buy after school on launch day (I'm too chicken to ditch).

I don't like dealing with Gamestop or ebgames.com's overpriced bundles, so I'll take my chances at Target or Best Buy or Wal*Mart.

Already on pre-order. I am #4 on the list so I am sure to get one. I can't wait. Its a bundle with 2 games and an extra controller, which I would get anyway, so being a bundle does not bother me.
