Ok, I am trying to list all of my collections.... I did this on word but dont really like that so I was wondering about some good sites.... I have a lot on IGN. com but they are missing a good bit of stuff and I would like to be able to seperate stuff from keeping and trading and also have places for complete, boxed, mint bad condition and stuff like that. Also DVDs would be cool. IGN is decent but not great... unless I just dont know how to do that stuff.
Thanks for your input... and if this is in a wrong forum move it :) Also I have stuff from Atari to the 360 so I need a good variety of selections.

I use www.rfgeneration.com. Their system is the easiest to use of all I've tried.

If a game is missing from the database we have a thread in the forums that you can post about the missing. It usually gets added to the database within a few hours.

Thanks for the hints. I was also looking for a good site to post a collection. Ign managed NOT to have over 30 games of my collection in their database. I even sent them an email with the 30 titles, release date, publisher and everything, but they didn't add anything.

I moved from IGN after their awful mylists change to RF.
They've been extremely good about adding games to the database rapidly and they've got some nice features I always wanted on IGN.
If you move your collection over there, take some time out to do some scans for games not in the database, it's a great way to pay them back for their hard work.

Something like this would never happen over at rfgeneration.
Games are typically added within hours. (depending on time of day) Sometimes a bit slower, but no longer than a day in most cases. ;)
The search function is easy and everything is very neat.

Oh man, just great. The one time I go to check out this site (which sounds fantastic, by the way), and the link doesn't work. :hmm: x_x Just my rotten luck again....

They said "Its sudden maintenance , that was required to improve the service and over come the server overload .
you: ohhh OK thanks"
They also said "It should be back shortly."
So I hope it is soon. I will keep you posted.

I use both DP and RFGen. Both work well for me, but it is a little easier to find specific games I might be looking for on RF. DP has the rarity guide too though, and that's definately a plus.

I've always used GameTZ.com. Never tried RFGen though. GameTZ is great for keeping track to your games, music, books, and DVDs. Though the best place that I've seen for keeping track of your DVDs is DVDAF.com. It even shows pics of all the different covers and is easy to use. Just going above and beyond.

i use vgrebirth myself. never looked into rfgeneration... honestly I think keeping one account is good enough (reason why I wouldn't be getting into rfgen, I'm sure it's a great place so no need for me to relist my collection when I already have it at VGrebirth)

I don't use any of those web based management tools. They are too tedious, especially if you have a large collection. (Plus IGN's is just laughable....what is with loading every cover for your entire collection? Jebus...)
I use an excel spreadsheet file on my PC for personal tracking. To show others my collection I use... simple HTML.

I agree that the IGN one sucks now, but for the unaware, you can customize the layout of the collection page and turn off the "cover" column.

I vote for RF Generation. There are great members there contributing game info/scans everyday. The forums are a awesome place to discuss gaming. The Video Game database is by far the best that I've used. Oh, and I forgot to mention... RF Gen has a chat room!

I used to use 1up.com's but it is totally messed up. They have prices for all of the games, but they are VERY wrong. MKII for SNES is listed at $49.99. As is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters Remix for PC. But the thing is; that is a bloody MUGEN game! It's free to download!
RF Generation, which I checked out after the link was fixed, seems to be the best I've seen.

I'm confused about RF Generation...It seems like you have to serch for a game before you add it..I'm serching for Rockman X2 for the Super Famicom, they don't have it on file..What's the point..I just want a site that you could just put a Game down without taking like 5 min's on the search thing

That's the way a database works. I could get into data structuring theory on why you wouldn't want every yahoo entering records for Rockman X2, rockman x2, Rock Man X2, Rock Man X-2, Rock Man X 2, Rock man X2, rockman xtwo, etc, etc... but I'd think it'd be obvious.
Besides, if you just want to fill out a blank sheet of paper, feel free to use notepad and copy it up to a geocities site.

Click add to my collection.
Type Rockman X2 in the search field.
Hit search.
Select the game, select your collection list, and click add.
I believe that's the bare minimum possible. Anything with fewer steps would have to hook directly into your brain.
As for missing games, when I added my collection there were a couple hundred not on their list. They have a thread going to submit missing games from their database. They're normally added in a day, if not hours, from when you post.

You can also register a website and post your stuff on there. That way you can have your own flow, record keeping method, and show off your collection all at once. :D
