What's that in the bottom pic's box of haul stuff? A milky pink GBA? Box seemed a little larger than normal.

The perspectives kinda funny, but it's the normal size.

My question is, what is that yellow-labeled mystery beer, and is it any good?

Hey DP,
I won't ask about the cash portion of the trade, but what where some of the things you had to give up in order to score the grails in those last 3 photos? I mean aside from all the other stuff, a 2600 test console, a boxed Glib and a boxed 3-D Imager...in one night no less! I am simply in awe of your (mind you, I'm not talking about the photo of you shaking the maracas here!) booty!

I believe you're referring to "Tequiza". Is it good? Ehh. It's beer with a citrus flavor. I'm more of a beer-flavored beer man, m'self. :)

I don't "give up" anything anymore... these days I use BLACK MAGIC to spirit away treasures from my guests! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
OK mainly cash. The Vectrex Imager was part of a trade with Will "wberdan" Berdan, involving multiple items from my trade pile. Nothing particularly rare, but lots of "medium rare" stuff. Oh, and the Glib you see is JUST the box - same with Dice Puzzle and the Fast Load. I already have the cartridges for those, now they have nice homes and are no longer "orphans" :)

Game Night was just awesome. There was easily more, and better, trade stuff than the last two NAVA meetings combined. I pretty much cleared out my trade box. On the ride home I was trying to sort out all the trades in my head. When I sorted everything out this morning I just couldn't believe how much cool stuff I came home with (not as cool as the 3D Imager...I did take a crack at that). Everyone was really nice. Cool stuff there; Guitar Freaks, X=Box MAME, X-Arcade Stick (I managed to survive more than 30 seconds playing Portnoyd in Marvel vs Capcom 2 with that bad boy), Vib Ribbon. It was a great time. But that picture of me is horrendous! How am I playing that guitar with my eyes closed?

It's so true. I think people come to this EXPECTING to trade big, which is what has made it so much fun. I traded with you, Portnoyd, geelw, wberdan, Al Backiel, tetsu, and almost kinda sorta with goblin (I think the deal we started will eventually happen).

First I have to say, nah nah, I got to sleep over at Joe's house! In the same room as Punch Out! :-p But he gets up too early, so I didn't get to see him wandering around in his underwear or anything.
Second, I'm hereby volunteering to PICK KAINE UP FROM HIS HOUSE next time I come to New Jersey, as long as he PM's me his address. Transportation will be NO excuse any longer.
Third, I'd like to know if anyone has a copy of Vib Ribbon for sale or trade. I got sucked in and couldn't stop watching; I sucked horribly when I played, just bad enough to make me want to get the game and get better.
Last, but not least, it was great getting to see people again (Joe, John, Dave, Scott, Jeff, Steve, Don, Al), and meet some new people (Liz, Adrienne, Jessen, Greg, Brian, Steve), and I can't wait till next time :)

Wow that looked like a great time!
Nice setup Joe, THAT, is a gaming room.
As maxlords mentioned, for us north of the 49th the NAVAs, NJ Classics, Philly Classics, CGE etc... are mostly just a wistful reading of the recounts.
Maxlords, not sure where you are in Canada, but if you are any where near me, or if there are any in the Greater Ottawa area, I for one would be willing to load up and drive....even if it was just once! :)
Until then we should set something up for ourselves.....

Well, I'm almost done painting, DAMN I procrastinate horribly. I'll be seeing teh sun rise.
At any rate, this was, I think, the best gaming night I've been to yet, IMO. I had a blast!
@Jamie -- It was terrific to see you again, and I also got infected by the damn Vib Ribbon bug. One of the things I did today instead of painting was to spend a very long time online, trying in vain to fond a good (read: cheap) deal on Vib Ribbon and/or a Konami guitar. Ebay had 2 Vib Ribbons, each with several days left on the auction. The one coming due in 2 days was from the UK, and was at about $40US as of this morning. I finally caved, and found one at http://shop.himeya.com, for $28.00 + $5 shipping. Lacking any sort of willpower or ability to delay gratification, I ordered one around noon today.
As for the guitar, I found ONE at an online vendor, PREOWNED, for $90. Shit, I really hope I luck out and find one at a flea market or something one day. I feel so broke lately I jesitated on the $30 for Vib Ribbon. No way I can pop for that guitar right now. I think I'm gonna have to try the game again using the knock-off guitars I've already got, and see if I can improve with them.
Oh well, back to more fun! I had a terrific time last night. Guitar Freaks was great, as always. Vib Ribbon was obviously a trip-and-a-half. The beer was cold, the pizza was there, & I got to meet a bunch of terrific guys & gals - Adrienne, Greg, Tom, Al, & Brian, as well as see some of the regulars that I've met previously. I also got to play City COnnection briefly on Joe's MAME setup, and confirmed how to play. Now I just need to find out what's wrong with my system that prevents the game from working properly.
Sooner or later I've got to get more into the whole trading scene though. I'm always too hesitant to part with anything I've already got, so I never get involved in trading. I'll have to get over that; there's really cool stuff floating around.
All in all, it was a fantastic, very laid-back and comfortable night. While there I easily forgot about pretty much all of my real-life stresses, which was pretty great, even if it was only for an evening.
See you guys in Philly!
Steve

It was good to see some of you again, and to meet others for the first time. These gatherings are great because I get the opportunity to see those rare items that I never would come close to owning myself. I always enjoy watching the trading action, especially when it spans multiple systems and multiple items.
I was amused watching that Japanese fast food game that Achicha and Portnoyd were playing, how come they get all the good games.
and almost kinda sorta with goblin (I think the deal we started will eventually happen).
I'll keep my eyes open for a nice shielded parallel cable, once I find one it would take me a matter of minutes to make the BJL cable for you. The main thing is finding a suitable donor at a good price, as I have no intention of buying one retail to hack. I'll rumage through some piles of cables and see if I can cobble something together or else you will need to wait until I find one in the wild. I was really hoping to get rid of the modified Jag "sans cable", as the cable is the easy part of the equation for a non-techincal person to make, however you are very persistant. In any case, I'll keep you posted, and I agree this will happen at somepoint. Oh and any deal is also contingent on all photos of me being removed and destroyed....

I know, I know... but I'm beyond non-technical. I'm also lazy when it comes to these things. After creating the Ms. Space Fury cartridges a few years ago I vowed that I would never do the technical work that someone else could do more competently in my place :)
And I don't understand your camera-shyness - you photograph well I think. Some people look way bigger, hairier, have red or white spot eyes, or have their eyes closed in most of their photos and I can understand them avoiding the camera!

I agree, I think your picture looks great, Stephen! In fact everyone's photo did! Gotta dig those t-shirts that Adrienne has! I'm extremely jealous and put out that I live out on the west coast! :) I'd love to get my hands on the perfectly pink GBA and that Atari 2600 Test console! *drool*
The picture of Don and John with the Coke and Beer I think is my favorite picture, though. Just that blissful calm of beer buzz on John's face is very amusing.
