Peter Moore hints at a new Xbox360 controller? (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=17998url)

So is Microsoft looking for a solution to the problem of overly-complex controllers? Well, "We're doing a lot of stuff there," Moore said - but "Nothing that we're ready to talk about".

He went on to say that Microsoft is "not going to force anything that is not going to be intuitive and innovative" - which could suggest that the company is unlikely to follow in Sony and Nintendo's footsteps by producing a motion-sensing controller.

Pretty interesting...

I'd love it if they were to introduce retro-controllers for the xbox live arcade :)

Meh, they are probably just finding a way to make a controller like sonys, or Nintendo's without copying it.

I predict the PS4 and the Xbox3 (or perhaps even on the PS3 and Xbox2) will feature carbon copies of the Wii remote.

You think I'm joking, don't you? Look up this comment in five years...

why is it that every time someone like peter moore takes a shit, a new "rumor" hits the internets, and everyone sees fit to run the stupid story?

isn't it a bit ridiculous? would microsoft really be spending truckloads of money to develop a simpler controller that they would cause the "casual" user to buy as a second controller to the xbox 360 to play simpler arcade games?

sure, it is possible. But what on earth did he say to support this notion? and while we are on the far flug subject (at least until we have some bit of substantial news) i would really like to know how they would market the purchase of a "simple" controller for X dollars when people already have a controller for the 360, as complex as it may be.

not to mention that as complex as the 360 may be, it is very not complex to only use the A and B buttons on the controller.

i just don't see the point in this one. at all.

I liked his comments about his daughter's complaint about playing PGR3 with the triggers. I don't know why they don't allow the right analog stick to be used for acceleration/brake. It's the only thing I don't like about Burnout Revenge on the 360.
