Here goes another round of Scenario:

The year is 1989. You are in charge of pricing the games at a video game store in Chicago. Your boss has given you a new assignment: price some of the games for the new Sega Genesis system, which has just come out that September.

You are given a list of some of the games to price, as well as the prices to choose from: $39.99 for value games, $49.99 for normal games, and $59.99 for expensive games.

As usual, say what you would in 1989. You are pricing new games when they first appeared on he store shelves, not old games that would be considered rare and collectible nowadays.

Here is the list:
Altered Beast
Tommy Lasorda Baseball
Super Thunder Blade
Space Harrier II
World Championship Soccer
Super Hang-On
Rambo III
Forgotten Worlds
Thunder Force II
Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Last Battle
Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf
Zoom!
The Revenge of Shinobi
Golden Axe
Phantasy Star II
Truxton
Mystic Defender
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Herzog Zwei

Enjoy!

Herzog and Phantasy Star 2 were expensive due to the type of games they are and I know phantasy start has a battery for saving for $59.99. I think the $59.99 price is off what phantasy star cost back then with it being more. I think most non rpg games were in the $49.99 back in 1989.
I think Altered Beast was a pack-in. I think it mighted been cheaper due to that.

I shank my employer in the face with a crowbar for not having read the MSRPs.

Also, I escape to Russia and take over oil assets as the Communist bloc crumbles.

But first, you need to make sure you steal a couple crates of River City Ransom carts so that when the game becomes an internet hit a decade later you can say, "dude, I was in on that shit from the start" and sound cool.

Also, I'd sell a shitton of slap braclets and trolls before defecting to Eurasia where I live like a god damn king until I'm assassinated by my limo driver for doinking his wife.

Herzog Zwei -$59.99

Herzog and Phantasy Star 2 were expensive due to the type of games they are

Herzog Zwei (which didn't come out until 1990) was $39.99 when it was released. It's still pretty close to what it goes for on ebay. How many Genesis games can say that?

Super Hang-On $49.99
Rambo III $49.99
Forgotten Worlds $49.99

I'm pretty much in exact agreement with PSerge, except maybe I'd drop Super Thunder Blade to $39.99.
