What model Playstation do you have? There are a few diffrent options for modchips with various Playstation models.

The modchips are a bit finiky too, you have to flash it right the first time, they can't be re-flashed.

I have installed a modchip into my PSOne, works great. I had tried to install one into a older grey Playstation, did not turn out the way I had wanted.

I got mine from here (LINK (http://www.chipzone.com/marketplace/catalog/stdtemplate/stdtemplate.cfm?StdTemplate_SystemPID=346289&VendorID=35&ClientID=11052)) for like $12 shipped. It works very well for imports and backups, and is an easy install.
