If your talking about those really lame "Skip Roger's" ones, there were only two (thank god x_x)

? Did you have a link to someplace to show off on-line rips of his videos or some others? I don't really care too much about how many are made of beating games, rather that they exist and sometimes it's more entertaining to watch others beat stuff in style and make you look like a rookie.

Here is a torrent to one I ripped and shared almost a year ago, not sure if this is exactly what you are talking about, but whatever

I know there are at least nine, there were six GamePlayers stategy "Gametapes" from GamePlayers magazine, Three of Steve Harris' SECRET Video Game Tips, Codes and Strategies featuring Donn Nauert, Jim Allee and Shane Olivo- these are classic and the third one is really hard to come by.

I've never heard of the Skip Rogers tapes.

The Konami one? That's the one I have, and I found it at a Borders Outlet a few (several?) years back.

I put up a list on the RFGen forums, but the forums were switched/upgraded last night and I can't seem to log on right now, so won't be able to post a link until I'm logged in.

Anyway, roughly off my head:

2 Kodak VHS (blue and blue; Skip Rogers)
Secret Video Game Tips (I thought only 2 existed, blue and green, but you say that the third one is very hard to come by...do you have a pic of it?)

Up to 12 Nintendo Gameplayer's gametapes, excludes at least one ABC/Signal Research variation (Vol 1 No 4; games list put in alphabetical order and switched spots with the screenshots), and a member on RFGen recently found out that most if not all tapes have another variation from being released by another company IIRC (possibly with different games, not 100% sure), so that would make 25 different ones including variations (not all have been proven, so this is an assumption). I didn't add all of these to the list yet on RFGen either.

If those all hold true, then the total would be 17 unique ones, and at least 30 including variations!

EDIT: I just remembered...this is not verified, but I recall seeing ads for game-specific "How to Beat" VHS tapes in old magazines, so the number of unique gametapes could exceed 17. These things just didn't sell well at the time so they are just harder to find.

theres about 13 differnt ones, I have a gameboy one that i havn't seen elsewhere, i've been trying to find all of them myself with very little luck.

I was tempted to encode all of em when I got a chance.

You're welcome. ;)

By the way, I just thought of another one: The NES Tips & Tricks VHS that came with the Game Handler one-handed controller.

Do you have a picture of the Gameboy one? Sounds interesting :)

I just remembered of even one more VHS, but it is not a confirmed release. If you look in the back of the Rocketeer NES manual, there is a coupon for $5 off a How-to-Beat The Rocketeer VHS tape ;) I've never heard of anyone owning or having seen this tape, though, but I assume it must exist since they included the coupon in the game's manual.
