I'm going back to Vegas this week and I was wondering if there are any good gaming stores out there. I have a Game Crazy down the block from where I stay in Vegas, but I was wondering if there are any independent gaming stores around.

Nothing too great. I mostly shop at EB's and Gamecrazy. But there are a few game shops off of Nellis. Once again nothing amazing but a good selection.

never been to las vegas but i would assume pawn shops would be a great place to check due to people possibly trading in stuff for gambling cash.

The arcade in the top of the Pyramid is pretty cool. ;)

The arcade in New York New York is pretty decent as well, and the Gameworks on the strip has one of those huge "vr" shooting games where it goes up and down for like 2 stories.
You might want to check out the Chinatown mall (I don't know the real name of it) on Mountain Spring Road (a few miles off of the strip). A few of the stores had some interesting bootlegs/knockoffs last time I was there.
You can find some really good deals in pawn shops, especially those closer to Fremont St (aka "Old Vegas"). I didn't see too much for games tho at the couple I stopped in at, besides some current gen stuff.

There's really only one independent game store I know of in Vegas and its Gameworld. They have two locations one on Durango, and another on E. Charleston.
I havent been there in awhile so I dont know if things have changed, but the main store in Charleston is probably the one you want to visit if looking for games. They sell new and old games, I think I remember seeing the old Atari cartridges, but I know they have stuff from the Master System and on. The one on Durango didnt have much of a selection on the classic section and last I went there half the store was set aside for card game tournaments and play.
It was nice when I first visited, remember them having a whiteboard asking to buy Neo Geo games and all, though I never saw there stock of em, if they even had any. They have a somewhat ebay mentality when pricing their games, especially if they have those hot ticket games they go for a lot on ebay, but it probably be worthwhile to check out.

From what I understand theres a couple decent flea markets..... But I dunno might be really dead cuz of the heat.
Bring a wide brimmed hat if you do.
I live pretty close to Vegas but this town has nothing for games other than Wal Mart heh.

Be sure to hit up the MGM aracade too! They have a really cool turret game in the corner that kicks ass!
As for shops though? How long are you going to be there and what are you doing? I was so busy gambling, checking out the sights and getting free drinks on the slots the few days I spent there gave me no time to look around as to what they had shopping wise but I bet there's some nice stuff out in the oasis city.

Thanks for all the info.! I was there last May, July and October and Im going one more time to see if I may wind up moving there. I knew all about the gaming places, like Gameworks (which I think needs to be revamped a bit), ESPN Zone,, the Luxor place, etc but I haven't had a chance yet to check and see if there were any local gaming shops around. Seems like I should try and check out the one up on Charleston. At least its cool that I got a GameCrazy up near me (on west flamingo by the way), but I have yet to actually set foot in there. Hope its at least half decent in there.

on Mountain Spring Road (a few miles off of the strip)
You mean Spring Mountain, and going to that little stretch for bootlegs=lame.
Living in North Las Vegas is even worse, especially if you're like me and have no car. There's only one Gamecrazy around (on Craig & Simmons), and it's horribly cramped, to say nothing about having shit for games pre-current gen.
I would love it if someone would open up a shop in the strip mall under construction along Craig between Clayton and Simmons.
I live pretty close to Vegas
Aw, fuck. *starts arming up*
