I was going to reply in the topic itself, but figured hey might as well give it its own thread.

Instead of bubble wrap, try newspaper or crumpled up supermarket plastic bags.

If you are in a pinch, yes newspaper or crumpled up supermarket plastic bags are ALWAYS better than zero protection.

But IF YOU CAN HELP IT AT ALL, always go for bubble wrap. I find them to be the best form of protection, besides, newspapers can get messy and make the games (or cases) smell funky... always been a pet peeve of mine,

Albeit CD cases w/newspaper are NOWHERE near as bad as CARTRIDGES wrapped up in newspaper. ugh at the latter. The former ain't so bad, not that it's great, but I can live with it. Newspaper however tends to leave black marks on cartridges, and they just smell bad.

Depends on how the package is. For bigger packages i always use news paper as protection. For smaller i use bubblewrap. Sometimes i combine :)

I prefer to recive packages with bubblewrap only tho. Then you can use it again. Paper is being burned or thrown.

I use newspaper or ads that are thrashed at the post office for free padding. However, I -always- make a note of wrapping every item I send inside a plastic bag to prevent any ink from getting on the item. :)

It really depends on what you're shipping. For games I pretty much always use newspaper and free priority mail boxes and routinely get complimented on my packaging in my feedback. If I'm shipping a console or something heavy however I'll try to use bubble wrap and newspaper.

I always wrap games in plastic first. I mostly do it because idiotic mail carriers sometimes leave packages in the rain. I have never had the problem with newspapers leaving black marks on games, but I would imagine they would be very easy to remove.

I like to recycle packaging material (peanuts, bubble wrap and newspaper) I'm not a tree hugger, its just cheaper. LOL

I have probably done over 500 trades on various boards and never had a complaint about my packaging. :)
