I'm trying to come up with a list of console games that are played using a microphone. I'm especially interested in those that included a microphone or headset in the packaging.
The voice recognition games I'm aware of are....
Socom Navy Seals - PS2: The first Socom I purchased included a headset in the box. I came away with a great deal of respect for how well voice recognition was implemented in the game. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've been asked to repeat my selection over the phone in some companies automated voice recognition customer service menu, but Socom worked pretty flawlessly. I was really suprised by that and decided to investigate how many other games included voice recognition as a feature and see how well they implemented it.
Seaman - Dreamcast: It came with a microphone and you talked to a fish, correct?
Alien Front Online - Dreamcast: I know it was packaged with a microphone. Was that only used to chat online with?
Hey You Pikachu - N64: Not sure what you did with the microphone in this game, but one was included in the packaging.
Odama - Gamecube: Haven't had a chance to buy/play this yet, but I think you can issue commands with an included microphone.
Mario Party 6&7 - Gamecube: I know there's a microphone in the packaging. Don't know what it's used for.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Nintendo DS: I don't know anything about the DS. Is the microphone part of the system itself or is it sold seperately with the games? Anybody know what the microphone does in this game?
Lifeline - PS2: Was a microphone/headset ever part of it's packaging?
Karaoke Revolution's/Party - PS2/Xbox/Cube: Do you simply use the microphone to sing into or does it also act as a voice controller of some sort?
I'm kinda suprised I can't think of a single PlayStation game that came with a microphone.
Are there any others? Thanks.
