This topic may have been covered before, but my question is, are multicarts legal? can they be traded? Are they worth much? I have seen them for various atari systems, NES, Game Boy, Etc. I just wouldnt want to get in trouble for purchasing, or trading one. Let me know your thoughts.

A legal multi cart would be one where the company making the cart has rights to the games. Something like the Super Mario/Duck Hunt/Track Meet cart (which probably isn't the first thing to spring to mind when you say multi-cart) is cool because Nintendo owned the rights to all those games. The typical 11000000000 in 1 cart you see in import shops is NOT legal because the company producing the cart does not have the rights.
Still, I think enforcement of this is kinda lax. Everyone is much more worried about mod chips for current systems than multi-carts for long dead ones.

And if you meant "legal" in the sense of being allowed in this forum, then we have no rules against talking about them, selling them, or trading.

I've got a working theory that Nintendo operates most of the so called 'pirates' that make these things. They seem... I dunno... selective in those manufactures who they go after. Something smells fishy.
