If you were to get a video game related vanity plate, what would it say? or maybe you already have one you'd like to tell us about?

Just check your state's RMV to see what's already taken (I don't know how it works in other countries). For example, here is a list of unavailable plates in Massachusetts:

http://www.state.ma.us/rmv/vanity/index.htm

My first thought was "EPYX" but it's been taken! Can you believe that? Then I thought "C64" but you must start with 2 letters. It's no surprise that "ATARI" is already taken or that "VIC20" isn't. Hey, maybe I'll get that!

On second thought, vanity plates are kind of... I don't know... vain? ;)

Been discussed here before, but I'll bite again. My plates read "AT 2600" and has a frame that says "I'd rather be playing Atari games" complete with little Fuji symbols in the corners!

I'll go another round too.

My plate in NY is "ATARI".

Really no reason not to get vanity plates except for the cost which I hear is quite high in some states.

I'm going to snag ATARI in Michigan this week sometime. I just noticed it was available. If not Atari the maybe ATR5200 or something like that.

hehehe actually I was going to have ARCADE and ATARI but I reserved them on the VA web page because they were available. When I got to the DMV to pay for them I was told they were taken. They refused to listen to the fact that I reserved them online and they were under my VIN (or social can't remember know) and I had to come up with alternates. Still pretty happy with COINOP since all the amusement companies I deal with get a kick out of it :) ATARI-8 also applies much better since I like the Atari computers better than most of the consoles.

I didn't realize this had been discussed before. I just thought it was fun to browse through the lists and see what was already taken. Here are some others I saw that may or may not be intentionally video game related:

MARIO
NES
NESNOW
PACMAN
SEGA
SIMS
SMS
SONIC
VCS

Here are a few more that aren't taken (in Massachusetts):
INTV
JMPMAN
NEOGEO
PITFAL
PS2
PSX
QBERT
XBOX

One reason not to get a vanity plate is if, like me, you share a car with someone.

Well, I tried to get "Atari" or "Sega" in Florida, Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky with no luck. I recently moved to NY and was declined again. Apparantly John, which posted above, has the "Atari" vanity (sigh)
