I've preferred Pac Mania over the years.

Super Pac-Man. It's all about getting the giant power pellet and destroying everything.

That or Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures.

I like the modern Pacman World game, mainly because I don't suck at it! LOL

That Pacman game that was 1/2 videogame 1/2 pinball machine was pretty coll. Was it Pacman Jr or Jr Pacman or something?

Super-Pac, by far.

I'd love to have other mazes for the Super-Pac mechanic, sorta like a 'Ms. Super-Pac'

That one was Baby Pac-Man. There is a Jr. Pac-Man, and that one is pretty good too, even on the 2600.

I'm suprised by the amount of Super Pac love in this thread. I thought I was the only one.

Nothing beats the original for me. It was my first experience with video games. Dad would have to hold me up to play the arcade machine cuz I was only 3 or 4 years old. Good times. :)

Super Pac for me, too, because it was the only coin-op variation of the game I didn't royally suck at.

Graphically speaking, I've also always liked the Atari 5200 version too.

For me it would have to be Jr. Pac Man, just because it is the only version I keep coming back to and always seems to kick me. Its giant scrolling mazes and those damn prizes that destroy your power pellets if you let them run around the maze too long seem to be the perfect Pac Man balance for me.

K. C. Munchkin.

LOL

Good choice, though... It surely is the best pac-clone!

My fave is the arcade original, of course. This was the game that made me fall in love with video games. And the day I bought my machine was the happiest day of my life.

The opening music never fails to put a smile on my face. Even 26 years later.

You know, I never played Pac-Mania. Was it pretty good?

As for my fav, it would have to be Ms. Pac-Man. The ghosts didn't have set moving paterns like they did in Pac-Man and that made the game more challenging. Plus, the large abundance of fruit made it a bit easier to push up your score just a bit more.

Pac-pix.. but if you mean in the waka waka style... the original is always the best =)

Hmm tough decision to make here, I like the original but have to go with a split between Pac Mania and Pac Land (so far the first and only mention of it in this thread).

Ms. Pac for me. I also have a lot of fondness for the 2600 version of Ms. Pac. as well

Jr. Pacman I like.. but only if it's sped up (i.e. Jr. Pacman is sped up). That makes the game a lot more fun for some reason and gives you a fighting chance in those huge mazes.

Pac-Man Vs. is such an incredible multiplayer game.

But I've also got a lot of love for Pac-Attack.

I like the simplicity of the original. There's something elegant about experiencing the original vision without all the gimmicks that later versions piled on. That's not to say the others aren't any good - I just prefer the trance-like feeling of herding and eating the ghosts board by board.

The Pac-Man board game, of course. :P

j/k, although when I was a wee lad, I was pretty crazy about the board game. I got to play it so rarely that it was always a treat.

My favorite Pac game is probably Ms. Pac-Man, especially with the speed cranked up. I'm also a big fan of Pac-Mania and Pac-Attack. Pac-Man Arrangement is pretty good too.

No Exciting New Pac-Man Plus love here?

Pac Mania was pretty awesome for me. The soundtrack is fantastic, and it's pretty challenging because of the fact that while you can jump, later on in the game other ghosts can jump too. Plus, the stage designs are more creative and wider. Lots of twists and turns, and some of the later stages have you go up and down stairways!

Pass on the GBA version of Pac-Mania though.. they butchered the music :(

For real man, I was so upset when I did not hear some of my favorite classic Pac Mania songs. Did it ever come out on PSX?

I liked Ms. Pac-Man but probably still prefer the original. Maybe it's because of the one great maze. I liked the first and third mazes in Ms. Pac-Man but pretty much hated the second one which I was pretty bad at.

Didn't Pac-Mania make it onto one of the Namco Museum releases on the PS1? I could pull mine out to check...

I guess I'm the only one that's really into Pac-Attack. Sure, it's a puzzle game but a really fun one. Matter of fact, it's one of those few puzzles on the SNES that doesn't require squinting to read a pattern or a bundle of colors.

Since everyone wants to give hands up about the maze games though I'll say my favorite is the 5200 version. I'm going to be collecting only about 20 5200 games and that's one I've had for awhile and plan on keeping. Now I just need a freaking system. But it's all good because I have some store owners that'll hold the system for me once it comes in. :D

I always liked Ms. Pac-Man the best. For some reason, all the arcades in the area where I grew up had Ms. Pac-Man cabs instead of the original. I also really enjoy the 7800 Ms. Pac-Man port. The Atari 8-bit computer port had choppy movement for some reason that was really annoying, and plain ol' Pac-Man was kind of dull for me.

I also like Pac-Land for some weird reason. Yeah, it's kind of a crappy game, but I used to play it all the time in this dingy, gloomy little arcade in an old mall in the "bad" part of town where I grew up in the late 80s. There was something about controlling Pac by mashing on buttons rather than a stick...then I got the Turbografx-16 port which supported D-pad movement and the game was cake. :)

What system can I get a good version of Pac-Mania on. Or if its on a decent compilation, I pick that up.

Pac-Mania had a beautiful port on Genesis. Better than the NES one IMO.
