AOL had this on their main page today:

2. Cubivore

4. Stetch Panic
5. Gitaroo-Man
6. Irritating Stick
7. NiGHTS Into Dreams
8. Feel the Magic
9. Mister Mosquito
10. The Typing of the Dead
11. WarioWare Inc.

Hmm...
A game like Mister Mosquito just doesn't fit the "weird" label. It's a very different type of game, yeah, but it's not weird. Mosquitos suck blood, and that's what you do in the game.
It's an okay list. It's more or less the generic weird games that everyone seems to know about without doing any digging. But I don't really expect AOL to do any digging at all.

The funny thing is that on the little picture that linked to this article had two pictures of characters from Guitar Hero, and made me think it was on the list. Gitaroo Man was, but thats still a pretty different game if you've played them.

I dunno, I'd venture to say that they had to dig a little to unearth Stretch Panic and Irritating Stick, since both were games that have been ignored from day one. Of course they aren't going to go and dig up a bunch of imports.
Decent list of games though, from what I can remember I have owned at least 5 of those at some point.

Heh, I own all those but Irritating Stick and Typing of the Dead.
Pretty decent list, IMO.

I think it's a pretty good list... sure, you're not likely going to agree with every game they listed (I don't really consider NiGHTS Into Dreams... to be a "weird" game, for instance, but to each his or her own), but overall, it's fairly solid.

Even if it is AOL, I am sure some thought went into the list. It isn't like some executive pulled names out of thin air or a hat. They probably have freelance video game writers or "experts" who know a little bit about gaming that just gave them a list. Alternatively, there may be two or three gamers on their payroll who brainstormed this list. It isn't the opinion of AOL as a corporation. It's really the product of a couple people who gave a list of games to whoever updates the main page at AOL.
