Cyplix II: Kepone's Revenge - Limited 10 of 15 - Atari 2600 Game
This auction is most unusual as the proceeds of this auction are going towards a badly needed DVD burner for a fellow Atari Ager named Kepone. Kepone has been accomidating in his inclusion into the Cyplix Universe, so basically I'd like to raise enough money so he can get that DVD Burner he needs.
This is the last Cyplix II: Kepone's Revenge that will go on Ebay.

How common are games like these, ie extremely limited run games for obsolete systems? Who is manufacturing the cartridges? Where are these being sold outside of ebay?

**I'll answer these questions to shed some light(not UV light) on this topic.**
Limited Run games are made in a 1st print run of so many games(in this case 15 carts). The games are signed, numbered, and dated by the author.
The games are readily availble once the batch is made into cart form, but once they are all sold, collectors seldom part with their copy(s). And if they do, the carts will go for much miore than they sold for intially. So yes, the carts are quite rare.
The carts can be manufactured by a variety of manufactures such as: Atari Age, Packrat Video Games, AtariService.com, 8 Bit Classics, and a few other manufactures. In essence, the author makes a game and label, sends it to a manufacturer to be made into cart form, recieves the made carts, signs, numbers, and dates them, and then sends them out to various buyers across the globe.
Ebay is one place to buy these limited run games. Here are a few more:

Packrat Videogames
8 bit Classics
Neotokeos Classic Videogamer
Hopefully this answers all of your questions.

I have been asked this question a number of times about the price of a good DVD burner is the U.S.. The answer is I am not sure. I remember buying mine (a Pioneer) in Canada about a year ago for about $100.
If the auction goes for more than what a good DVD burner costs then Kepone can spend the money how ever he sees fit. Maybe he will by some computer parts or some carts from Atari Age. Who knows?
So check out the auction and if you like the cause and like the game then bid.
Thanks,
Charles

Good DVD burners don't cost more than $40-$50 now. It depends on the speed. If you can live with 8x max speed, then you can get a good, cheap one from one of several online vendors easily. :)
Good luck on the auction.

Kepone is the kinda guy who asks for free games because he is so poor and then one week later brags about buying some rare games that only cost him a hundred dollars.

There are 3 Days and 18 hours left on this auction. I have had some emails with question which I have added to and answered in this Ebay auction.
Kepone's not the richest guy in the world, but he has been a good sport of the whole Kepone inclusion into the game, so I figured it'd be a cool thing to do to get him a DVD burner.
The auction was entirely my idea. I don't ever recall Kepone ever asking for any free games. I know he never did with me. Actually $100 for some rare games can be quite a deal, so I can't fault him for that.
I hope the auction does well too.

He asked me for free games, claiming that he was broke. I told him he could have them if he paid the $3 shipping and he said he could not even afford to pay that. Then one week later, he brags about buying some rare 2600 games for $100.
Just thought you might like to know the kind of guy you are helping out.

Yeah Kepone is a first class bum, I chewed him out a little over being a slack ass in a trade through private messages and he whines to everyone in a public thread on Atari Age.

A suggestion for a cheap DVD burner. I have no opinion of Kepone. :D

Knowing what I know about Kepone, I can't help but assume that the DVD burner will be used to create a large collection of fetish films. More disconcerting to me though is your seeming facination with the dude. I know that Kepone never asked for any of this.
Hope your auction goes well, though. :)

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on him, but you have a right to your opinion. I'm just trying to help him get a DVD burner he couldn't normally or easily get at this time.
