Bought a 2nd hand copy of a ps2 game and it had a minor scratch on the label side of the disc. Will it affect gameplay or should i not worry about it?

It really depends. I had a copy of Mega Man Legends that had a miniscule label scratch on it that didn't affect the first 10+ hours of gameplay, but then as I went into one area for a boss sequence it would go to load and then crash.
Your most likley gonna have to sit and play it for a while to see if its actually going to affect gameplay. It could be on a part of the disc that is empty or it could only come to get used on a very specific game setting, or it'll just happen and crash the game.
