I'm not a full fledged celebrity yet, but I'm on the way lol. For the record, I know Triple H (WWE cancer) of all people has quite a few classic systems and games. And once on Cribs on MTV someone from Marylin Manson's band had a decent sized collection of Atari 2600 games, his favorite of which was Journey: Escape.

twiggy from marilyn manson is the only celeb that i've seen that has any classic games at all. lil romeo (master p's son) has a decent collection of gamecube, ps2, xbox and arcade games though.

I was watch TechTV a few years ago and they sent a crew to the home of the actor who played Wesley Crusher on Star Trek TNG. During the course of te interview he was giving a tour of his house off and he mentioned he has always wanted to own every Atari 2600 game made. He had about 20 boxed games on the floor under his desk.

When I worked for Activision I remember talking to one of the lead testers on one of the Tony Hawk games... anyways he got to go to Tony's house and he said that Tony had quite a collection of older systems.

Don't know if this counts.. but on on G4TV on an episode of "Players" (which is actually a series that's about celebrities playing video games), Bustah Rhymes has a PS2 and mentions how he always plays Williams Arcade Classics on it and especially Robotron. The rest of the segment shows him playing some ps2 basketball game though...

To back up Briskbc, I was watching G4 and it looks like Will Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) is the new co-host of the show "Arena" -so he's definitely into gaming big time.

David Cross from Mr. Show is a big time game player, although I dunno about his retro-ness.

There is a (some would claim) comedian in England called Jonathan Ross who is into retro gaming in a big way. So big that he married a games reviewer.

Indeed. His previous articles for Digital Press have been quite entertaining.
I hate to steal Russ Perry's thunder (I know he'll mention it if I don't), but apparently Heather Locklear is really fond of the Ms. Pac-Man arcade game. I mean, really, REALLY fond of it.

Good call, but oddly enough, I wasn't going to mention it...

Rather I was going to mention that I recently heard a rumor that Bill Clinton himself might be a classic gamer. I'm not sure how to feel about that if true.

Well, if Clinton is a gamer, we all know what his favorite game would be...

Does anyone remember the short lived magazine "Insite"? That was kind of like People magazine with games. Pretty much all they had was celebrity interviews about games they liked and whatnot. The only one I really remember was Ice-T really likes Resident Evil.

And what about Spielberg? I remember reading back in the day about how he had arcade cabintes (specifically I remember Missle Command.)

Del is apparently a big Sega fan, and considering the lyrics to Protoculture he truly is a gamer.

Jonathan "Woss" is a retro gamer? Now that I did not know! When I am famous, I will be a celebrity gamer. I just have to get my book published. Well, come to think of it, I also have to write my book :( Oh well.

Wayne Brady was on a talk show once, and he said that he was "obsessed" with video games.

Now if a celebrity posted here and said they were who they were, would we belive them?

mh good question, i don't think so, but who knows, perhaps they can prove :)

that's something i'm always asking myself, could someone on this or other boards be a celebrity, but imho they don't have enough spare time to use a board frequently, so IF there is one, i think it's someone with very low number of posts

I've got a friend who works for one of the Busch sereis race teams and he knows of several drivers that have been known to congregate for the sole purpose of playing Mike Tyson's Punch out. I also know that Dale Jr as well as some of the other guys have Ps2's, GC's and Xbox's in their motorhomes at the track.

Regarding Wil Wheaton, he actually was the old co-host of "Arena", not the new one. Perhaps the guy who saw him on there saw an old rerun...which isn't surprising since that's what most of G4's programming is. I know G4 has a series called "Players" which is basically hanging out with "celebrities" who play games. I say "celebrities" because I never heard of half the people they talk with. A large percentage of these are rock bands I am unfamiliar with, not surprising since I'm not really into the rock scene these days.

I remember seeing an episode of The Tonight Show where Jay Leno played a round of golf with Tiger Woods and they had Jay in the game. Jay was wearing a kilt in the game as I recall...pretty funny stuff.

I'm pretty sure most of the guys from CKY, like Bam Margera and Brandon Dicamillo are big gamers....there's plenty subtle of reference to them, anyway...more so with Dicamillo, probably. I'd put money on it that he has good size collection.

Steven Spielberg is a huge video game fan. He (well, Spielberg and Dreamworks, his company) helped pioneer and fund the launch of Sega Gameworks.
