About time...I was all excited to download Frogger once Juganawt told me about it 20 minutes ago, but unfortunately I'm on the east coast. We've waiting so long for something new, I guess I can wait until the morning ;)

Ditto.

Galaga is the only one I'm picking up for sure. Mainly because once Microsoft gets "Live Anywhere" up and running, that along with most of the other Namco classic titles will almost definitely be ported to every platform that supports Live Anywhere.

If you ask me, the only two things that are overpriced on XBLA are themes and the recent GRAW content. Everything else, in my opinion, is priced pretty fairly.

Overpriced? The prices havn't changed on classic games and I new SF was going to be $800 points, I dont know how some of you didnt see that coming.

Anyways I will buy them all, as I always do.

It's worth it folks, to be able to play these classic games on LIVE with other people and other goodies. I'll be buying 'em. I got to save up some money though. :-D

See if you want Pac-Man on the 360 you should be playing a little game called Ridge Racer, or as HiRai would say, "Riiiiiiiiiiidge Racer".

That's what the Live Gold Bundle is for. Get a spare headset, Bankshot and 200 MP for only a few dollars more.

I'm still hard-pressed to pay anything for something that isn't at the quality level of Marble Blast. I swear, that game was made just to sell me a 360 console with the shattered hopes bundle. I've had the 360 since January and own Ridge Racer 6, Dead or Alive 4, Marble Blast Ultra, and Zuma (bought for MsNinja). DoA4 got old for me way too fast, Marble Blast is all done, and Zuma is an irregular play at best. RR6 is the only thing I do with the darn console (other than watch DVDs). I'm so bitter.

The good news is that, while XBLA isn't exciting me at all, there are supposedly a few titles coming out by the end of 2006 that I think I'll enjoy. Maybe.

the oblivion downloads are pocket change i think. I'm not into gamertags or themes so i won't pay for those. I got pacman on ridge racer 6 so I'm all set with that. I'll probably get street fighter, but i'm not interested in the other classic games. I don't know what Cloning Clyde is supposed to be all about but I'll at least check out the demo for that one to see whats up. I don't even know what kind of game it is so I can't say anything about that one yet. Its cool that they are comming out with 1 release every wednsday. I've been waiting for some new XBLA games. But most of those on the list I think I'm going to pass on just because I already have them for atari and like 100 other systems.

You need some more games. Prey, Call of Duty, Ghost Recon, Moto GP, etc. Plenty of superb titles are out there.

Thanks for the input, but I would play none of those. I'm not into first-person-anything, war fighting, games that require more than a 15 minute commitment to get anywhere.

It never ceases to amaze me at how this is the smartest marketing idea probably on the history of earth, ever. They update all these games, possibly add some graphical reworkings, throw in achievements to make them really playable and overcharge with the "points" system. Now don't get me wrong, I've bought a few and they're damn fun, but geez! I feel bad doing it and I get the cards at almost half off from work.

My co-workers have been trying to convince me to buy that map pack for ghost recon which costs something like an entire 20 dollar card!! Never in the history of the earth. The themes and gamer pics are gouge machines as well.

Gamertags should be free, and possibly themes & wallpapers. That is my opinion on that. I think that is a stupid idea to charge people for media that promotes your game.

Uhhh.... So tell us again why you purchased a 360?

Obviously for the wrong reasons.

It's a great piece of hardware, but the expectations I had going into it haven't been met. The reason for that, perhaps, is because my expectations did not match the major selling points for the system. It's clear now that first-person, kill some guys games (for example, of course there are expections) are the major selling point, along with playing said games on Live. *I* purchased a 360 for Live Arcade and the "arcade style" games that would be released commercially. For example, the only two commercial games I have are DoA4 and RR6. Both are "pick up, play, put down" games. Perfect. With DoA4, it turned out that I just prefered the earlier games in the series. RR6 I still play and enjoy.

What *really* took my interest was the Live Arcade. Geometry Wars, Marble Blast Ultra - here were games EXACTLY in the realm of what I was hoping for through XBLA. Since then, though, XBLA support has been poor at best. I don't want wallpapers or icons or whatever - I want unique, new, and interesting games. If I wanted to play arcade classics, I'd go downstairs.

So that's where I'm stuck. It looks like the XBLA game that's coming out next week (Cloning Clyde?) is original and I'll probably get into that one. Ninety-Nine Nights is coming (right?) and a mindless hack and slash is perfect (I initially only bought a PS2 for Dynasty Warriors 2, after all). The next Sonic game might not be terrible, and will be on the platform, etc. Like I said above, the 360 isn't doing much for me now - given why I bought it in the first place - but I'm still reasonably optimistic.

Exactaly what kind of games do you play then? Be helpful and maybe we can find you some thing.

Like I said, I'm not into first-person-anything, war fighting, games that require more than a 15 minute commitment at a sitting to get anywhere kind of stuff.

That makes it sound like you don't have time for today's gaming in general, regardless of the system. The time commitment is always going to be there. That's ust where gaming has turned.

Oh, and Dynasty Warriors is on the 360. Might want to check that out.

Gamertags should be free.

Then people will change them at will and you won't know if you're playing with some idiot who team killed you before. That, and all Gamertags are put out of use once changed. Make the change free and you're losing a lot of possible names.

Whoops! Maybe I am not on the same page or my terminology is wrong.. What I meant was the little icons should be free. (See my atari logo below)

You're partially right - I don't have the time most of the time. Consider this, though. With Ridge Racer 6, in my quest to complete World Xplorer mode, I can turn on the console, load RR6, complete two races, save, and shut down in roughly 10-12 minutes. Fantastic! Now, of course, I do spend more than 15 minutes playing a game sometimes - and that's great - but I like having the ability to play for a short period and still feel like I accomplished something. In the modern gaming realm, the DS has been the best for this thus far and by far (of course, it can be argued that that's what handhelds are designed for). Still, I *like* the 360, I just want to be able to do more of my kind of stuff with it. This is certainly not an anti-360, pro-DS, or anti-modern gaming stance.

Then yeah, those should be free. Some games come with free ones (Table Tennis), and you can always stick with those. But yeah, $2 for a small set of pics is ridiuclous... Unless they're from Killer Instinct.

Have they set a release date for Lumines Live yet? The game page still says July, and we know all the July releases now...

Damn there are a ton of arcade games I want, on down the road...
